We
were at the 2013 Berlin Fives Cup Semi-Finals
stage and from the 20 teams who started the day
we were down to the final 4. There were still
4 different nationalities in with a chance of
victory so who would it be? England, France, Germany
or Romania?
First
up were Luminy Wolves against Hasanheide Hotspur.
The French team were competing in their fourth
Cup Semi-Final. In the previous 3 they had 1 victory
and 2 defeats. It is maybe surprising they have
not reached more than the one Cup Final to date.
Hasanheide
Hotspur were in their way and already secured
their best eurofootballfives.com finish and were
now just two wins from glory. They had seen German
team GFC Transylvania go out to Luminy Wolves
in the last game and would hope to avoid being
another casualty.
Luminy
Wolves were looking stronger and stronger and
in the Semi-Final they continued their fine form
of the Quarter-Final. Then they opened up a 3-0
lead and they did exactly the same here. Haikel
Ben Khelifa and Nicolas Allegre (2) scored the
goals that put the game beyond their Berlin opponents.
Anselm Coen struck his second of the game but
alas for them it was a mere consolation in a 3-1
defeat.
It
was the end of the road for Hasanheide Hotspur
today but it was an impressive performance. Quarter-Finals
in 2012, Semi-Finals in 2013 – they have indicated
their interest in joining us in Krakow in September
so what price a debut Cup Final then?
