Game 6 of Group B, on early evidence, was likely to be ABC United's toughest test to date as the top two teams came face-to-face. Could GFC Transylvania do what the others (in Budapest and here in Berlin) had failed to do and beat ABC United.

With two wins under their belt GFC Transylvania would go into the game in form and with confidence. It could not prevent them yielding a 2-0 deficit at half-term though as Adrian Constantin Neaga was in the goals again to draw first blood. Ciprian Costel Mozacu kept up his goal per game record and that was it at the break. There were further strikes from Stefan Munteanu (also scored in each game so far) and a first goal of the tournament for Razvan Radu.

There was to be some joy for GFC Transylvania as Karim Von Frosta became the first man in Berlin (and only the second in eurofootballfives history) to put a goal past Cristian Nita in the ABC United goal. Final score, 4-1.

Team Geek were next in action against SLFN Y. The former had found it tough so far but then they had played the top two. SLFN Y came into the game on the back of their first win and another win here would do them just nicely.

The game proved to be a goal fest with six goals in the first period along. It was Team Geek who claimed the lion's share to lead 4-2 thanks to Ben Potter (2), Rich Sykes and Dave Febrero. Mawulom Foli and Klark Schoburgh scored the goals for SLFN Y that kept them in the hunt - especially in a high scoring game.

After the break, Ben Potter completed his hat-trick with the goal that arguably sealed the points in this game for 5-2. Rich Sykes and Dave Febrero added a sixth and a seventh for a good measure and Team Geek had their first win….and in some style too.

The result meant the two teams were locked together on 3 points in mid-table with a game each to go.

Friedrichschain Rovers had a game in hand on their opposition so far and that game in hand was now on Pitch B versus GFC Transylvania. It was Group B's German derby with the teams harbouring differing aspirations.

For GFC Transylvania, it was their last group game and they knew a point would be good enough to qualify for the Cup in second position. Friedrichschain Rovers desperately needed the points to move level with Team Geek and SLFN Y.

The damage was done early in this fixture with both goals coming in the opening half of football. Karim Von Frosta's fifth goal of the tournament put GFC Transylvania into the lead and was soon doubled by Calvin Ji with his third of the tournament.

At 2-0 things looked far better for GFC Transylvania who shut the game out and ensured safe passage to the Cup competition. For Friedrichschain Rovers it was looking like they would need to win their last game to escape the Wooden Spoon and jump up into the Plate competition.

ABC United knew they needed at least a point to win Group B, they could even afford a narrow defeat due to their favourable goal difference to achieve this aim. However, I am sure defeat and draw were not in the ABC United manager's thoughts as he prepared his team for the encounter with SLFN Y.

SLFN Y had the minimum 5 players and it would be a daunting and tiring fixture that awaited them as the Romanians had the full squad of 10 to rotate. SLFN Y would need a point to ensure Plate qualification but they could still make the Plate even if they did lose as long as Friedrichschain Rovers did not win their last game.

A quick look at the form book would suggest an ABC United win and if we had a bookmakers at the tournament I'm sure they would not have even quoted odds on a ABC United win – no disrespect intended to SLFN Y.

After a first half that saw ABC United race to a 6-0 win I am sure the bookmakers would have been running a book on how many? The final score was 10-0 and the Romanian team finished the group with a 100% record, 28 goals for and just the one against. They were leaving Group B as champions and favourites for the Berlin title.

Their goalscorer's incidentally – Adrian Constantin Neaga (4), Razvan Radu (3), Stefan Munteanu (2) and Florian Mihai Mihalache.

The game to wrap up Group B was Team Geek versus Friedrichschain Rovers. It was a battle for the Plate qualification places and for 3rd position in the case of Team Geek. Team Geek's goal was relatively simple – avoid defeat and go through to the Plate. Due to goal difference they could even lose by a few and see SLFN Y slip into the Wooden Spoon places on goal difference.

For Friedrichschain Rovers the equation was equally simple – win and qualify for the Plate. Any sort of win would see them move above SLFN Y on goal difference and finish 4th. A four goal win would see them finish 3rd though with Team Geek slipping into 4 th and SLFN Y missing out.

As the game neared its climax we were level at 2-2 so Team Geek were assured of third but the big question would be whether it would be Friedrichschain Rovers or SLFN Y joining them in the Plate. If Friedrichschain Rovers could just nick a winning goal it would be them. The Team Geek defence did not play ball though and held strong. The final score was 2-2 and Friedrichschain Rovers would miss out on the Plate and go into the Wooden Spoon….just.

For those keeping tabs on the goal-scoring charts for Team Geek Ben Potter followed up his hat-trick with another goal here. Dan Jackson also got off the mark with his first of the day. For Friedrichschain Rovers it was Richard Greenwell and Nils Van Laak.
