Group B began with age and experience looking to prove it had what it takes to win the Barcelona title. The two most experienced teams in the draw were bestowed the honour of kicking us off. Hebden Bridge Old Boys already possessed experience of eurofootballfives.com competition having won their 5-team group in the 2009 Algarve Open. Norton Hill Old Boys were participating in our tournaments for the first time. Wearing the Argentina style-shirt it was Hebden Bridge Old Boys who were looking as successful as Diego Maradona's boys (at the time of writing) with Neil Coneron taking on the role of Higuain/Messi/Tevez (choose your superstar of choice!) scoring twice. Simon Waring added another and a 3-0 win was in the bag.

Match 2 saw Spanish debutants Sesimbassa host It's Back. We were treated to three goals in the first half and it was It's Back who stole the advantage. A goal from George Bowman and another from Jamie Cane outgunned Oriol Belles' strike for the home team. The goals proved elusive in the second half but the job was done for It's Back and they had got off to the perfect start.

The defending champions Anglo Knights who won via a penalty shoot-out 12 months ago had to sit out the first two games. They now had the chance to embark on their title defence. In 22 tournaments so far no-one has successfully defended a title and won back-to-back tournaments in the same city. Could Anglo Knights be the first? Breast Rummage Albion stood in their way. Jon Gilmore scored for the English team but the goal was not enough to prevent them reaching half-time 2-1 behind. In the 2 nd half the champions proved their class and eased away their travelling opponents. When the final whistle blew they had done enough to hit top spot. Final score, 4-1. The goals came from Alex Perez (2), Anwar Celaya and David Pros.
