Group B got underway with an intriguing contest between tournament regulars Retainers AFC (competing in our events since 2016) and debutants Joga Bonito of Romania. Retainers AFC brought valuable eurofootballfives experience into the opening fixture and would have been hoping to make that count against newcomers making their first appearance on the European stage. Joga Bonito, however, arrived eager to make a statement and quickly showed they were not simply in Amsterdam to make up the numbers.

The Romanians made an excellent start and wrote their names into the eurofootballfives history books when Ivan Farima scored Joga Bonito's first-ever tournament goal to give his side the lead. Buoyed by that breakthrough, the debutants continued to play with confidence and doubled their advantage through Claudiu Coltor. Retainers AFC found themselves under real pressure but responded before the interval when Jack Meehan pulled a goal back, ensuring the English side remained firmly in the contest at 2–1 going into half-time.

The second half proved to be a much tighter affair as Retainers AFC searched for an equaliser. They pressed forward and enjoyed more possession, but Joga Bonito defended with discipline and composure, refusing to allow their opponents any clear route back into the game. The Romanians managed the closing stages superbly, protecting their slender advantage and seeing out the contest to record a memorable victory on their debut.

It was the perfect introduction to eurofootballfives for Joga Bonito, who claimed all three points with an impressive 2–1 win and immediately announced themselves as a team capable of competing with the tournament's established sides. Retainers AFC, meanwhile, were left to reflect on a disappointing result but could take encouragement from the way they battled back before half-time. With plenty of football still to come in Group B, they would be confident of bouncing back in the rounds ahead.

The second match in Group B followed a similar theme to the opener, with tournament newcomers taking on one of eurofootballfives' most established teams. Debutants Dirt Dogs faced Humble Goats, a side with an impressive pedigree in Amsterdam. The English outfit had already won the Amsterdam Sevens twice, lifted the Plate at the Amsterdam Sixes, and also finished runners-up in this competition twice. With such an impressive record behind them, Humble Goats arrived with genuine ambitions of finally adding the Amsterdam Sixes Cup to their growing list of honours.

Humble Goats made the stronger start with Jazz Prins opening the scoring with a composed finish before doubling both his own tally and his side's advantage with another well-taken goal. The former Amsterdam Sevens champions controlled much of the opening period, using the ball confidently and restricting the debutants to very few clear opportunities. Their reward was a deserved 2–0 lead at the half-time interval. To their credit, Dirt Dogs refused to let the game drift away from them after the break. Tariq Aberkan gave the newcomers renewed hope when he reduced the deficit to 2–1, ensuring there would be a tense finish. That goal injected fresh belief into the debutants, who pushed hard in search of an equaliser. However, Humble Goats drew upon all of their tournament experience to manage the closing stages effectively, limiting chances and protecting their slender lead until the final whistle.

The 2–1 victory gave Humble Goats the ideal start to another Amsterdam Sixes campaign and suggested they could once again be among the leading contenders for silverware. Dirt Dogs may have come away empty-handed, but there were plenty of positives to take from their battling second-half display, which showed they had the character and quality to be competitive as the tournament progressed.

The final two teams to get their Group B campaigns underway were Medenballers of the Netherlands and Hilfe FC of England. While both sides were officially making their Amsterdam Sixes debuts, Hilfe FC arrived with a significant advantage in experience. Several members of their squad had already enjoyed success on the eurofootballfives circuit, having lifted the 2025 Porto title, and they were widely expected to be among the stronger contenders in this year's competition. Medenballers, meanwhile, were eager to make a positive first impression on home soil.

The opening half proved to be a cagey and evenly balanced affair with both defences looking organised and disciplined. Chances were at a premium as the teams cancelled battled hard, and it came as little surprise when the half-time whistle arrived with the scores still locked at 0–0. With so little separating the teams, it always felt as though a single moment of quality might decide the contest. That decisive moment arrived in the second half when Marquez Cadette found the breakthrough. His composed finish finally unlocked the Medenballers defence and gave Hilfe FC the lead they had been searching for. From there, the English side managed the remainder of the match professionally, denying the hosts any route back into the contest. The 1–0 victory gave Hilfe FC the perfect start to their Amsterdam Sixes campaign.

Medenballers can take encouragement from a disciplined defensive display, but they were ultimately left to reflect on a narrow defeat and the knowledge that there was still plenty of time to get their campaign back on track.
