In
the final game of Round 4, FC Maroon faced Scunthadam
in a crucial match for both teams. FC Maroon,
eager to bounce back from their previous heavy
defeat, sought a vital victory to enhance their
chances of qualifying for the knockout phase.
Meanwhile, Scunthadam, struggling at the bottom
of the table, aimed to turn their fortunes around.
The
first half started positively for FC Maroon as
they quickly took control of the game. Max Hill
opened the scoring, providing his team with an
early lead. Robbie Todd extended FC Maroon's advantage
to make it 2-0 before Lewis Worrall-Thompson further
piled on the pressure for Scunthadam, making it
3-0 before the halftime whistle.
The
second half saw FC Maroon continue their dominance
and attacking prowess. Ed Cotter added to their
lead, making it 4-0 and firmly cementing FC Maroon's
control of the match. Robbie Todd, in a moment
of amusement, managed to steal a goal from Max
Hill, much to the delight of everyone involved,
extending the scoreline to 5-0.
Not
content with their five-goal lead, FC Maroon continued
their relentless assault on the Scunthadam defense.
Phil Hodgson joined the scoring spree, securing
a comprehensive 6-0 victory for his team.
The
result propelled FC Maroon to fourth place in
the group table, significantly boosting their
chances of qualifying for the knockout phase.
Scunthadam, however, now knew their involvement
in the tournament would end after the group phase.
