FC
Dad enter the 2023 Amsterdam Sixes as the most
capped team on show in today's draw. They began
their long association with our events at the
2011 Prague Masters and have travelled with
us to Valencia, Lisbon (x2), Budapest, Barcelona
(x3), Riga, Mallorca, Gdansk and Warsaw.
FC
Dad were up against a Boca Seniors team who
had one member of the squad who pre-dates even
the FC Dad boys. Dan Ripley played in our 2nd
tournament event way back in the 2007 Prague
Masters for Kiwi side Fighting Pukekos. Today
represented our 129 th tournament in Europe
so 127 tournaments and 16 years represents the
largest gap between appearances in our history.
The
match proved to be a hard-fought encounter,
with both teams showcasing their defensive resilience
and keeping clean sheets. FC Dad, coming off
a previous draw in the tournament, sought to
claim their first victory, while Boca Seniors
aimed to secure their first point after a defeat
in their opening match.
Both
goalkeepers, Chris Breen for FC Dad and Dan
Ripley for Boca Seniors, displayed exceptional
performances throughout the match. Their shot-stopping
abilities and command of their respective penalty
areas ensured that neither team managed to find
the back of the net. The final whistle blew,
and FC Dad and Boca Seniors had to settle for
a hard-fought 0-0 draw.
