It
was an all-Dutch affair in Game 11 of Group
B as The Bastards met The Gentleman's Club.
Due to the result of the previous game, The
Bastards had slipped to the foot of the table.
They were still in touching distance of Plate
qualification though – just 2 points away. However,
they needed to put further points on the board
quickly. Time was beginning to run out.
The
Gentleman's Club were hanging on the coat tails
of City FC and Milner Street above them. This
was a chance for them to really close the gap
and move into the top two. If they could win
here they knew their two rivals were due to
meet head-to-head in the next game. At least
one of those teams would drop points and so
The Gentleman's Club would need to take full
advantage here.
That
is exactly what they did but they didn't have
it easy though. There was only one goal to separate
the teams. That goal was scored by David Ribeiro
– his third in four games. A first clean sheet
of the day helped them to earn all 3 points.
They moved top of the table and would eagerly
watch on for the result of the next game.
