We were now approaching the business end of the tournament with each team now having two games to go to stake their claim for Cup/Plate qualification. FC Tpaktop and Humble Goats were up first in Round 4.

FC Tpaktop were currently in fourth place and they were looking to increase their lead over the teams below them to strengthen their grip on Plate qualification. Humble Goats were looking to keep up the pace at the top and make it 4 wins from 4. They were looking unstoppable at present and were yet to concede.

At half-time, Humble Goats found themselves in familiar territory – winning. Raphael Antonio Olivero Hernandez scored his third of the tournament to give his side a 1-0 advantage. Humble Goats needed the security of a second goal. It was that man again, Raphael Antonio Olivero Hernandez, who made it 2-0.

Petr Tolmanov had made a name for himself at the 2021 Barcelona Fives. Not only for his goals that made him joint fourth highest scorer but also for the somersault celebration. The somersault was in evidence again to delight the crowds as he reduced the Humble Goats lead to 2-1. Alas for Petr and his team it would only be a consolation as Humble Goats held on for all 3 points.

Round 4 of Group A continued with Colonel Getafe versus Turn Down For Watford. Colonel Getafe had just seen Humble Goats move three points ahead of them at the top. They needed a win here to keep up the pace with the home side. This was no doubt a very dangerous tie for them. Turn Down For Watford were only three points behind them in the table and if Getafe lost they would be in a share of second position and Cup qualification would go right down to the wire. Obviously Colonel Getafe would want to win but, for them, it felt like a must not lose game rather than a must win.

Turn Down For Watford had no choice but to go for the win to keep their title hopes alive. Defeat would mean they could no longer catch Colonel Getafe and would be in the Plate. The teams behind them were not close enough to threaten their place in the Plate so this was a free hit for them to go all out for victory.

It was Turn Down For Watford who got their noses in front as Charlie Reeves scored his second of the day. Colonel Getafe had no answer before half-time and had a big second half ahead of them.

After the break Colonel Getafe were back level courtesy of an Oli Grossman goal. Teddy Hanifan made it goals in all four games as he put Colonel Getafe ahead. It proved to be the winner and a great comeback for Colonel Getafe. It assured them Cup qualification with a game to spare.

Up next on Pitch A was JK Silvertown versus Murder on Zidane's Floor.

JK Silvertown had struggled today but this had not always been the case. On both previous Amsterdam appearances they had reached the Cup Semi-Finals. Today they had a much changed side due to injuries and player availability post pandemic. Last time out here in 2018, they got off to a flyer with a 5-3 win over defending Plate champions, SC Sylt (Ger) and 6-1 over FC Fylde OB B. Their progress was checked by We Pay People who won 5-1 and a 3-3 draw with Wandsworth Athletic. They finished off the group with a win (2-1) over Some Like it Scott. They finished third in the table to qualify for the Cup.

In the Cup Quarter-Finals they got their revenge on We Pay People (3-1) but went out in the Semi-finals 5-2 to Melee FC who went on to lift their second eurofootballfives.com title.

They would have got that sinking feeling again when Fred Quick put Murder on Zidane's Floor ahead in the first half. Both these teams had struggled in front of goal today. JK Silvertown for example were missing their main marksman, Chris Wright who was top scorer here in 2018 with 12 goals. As a result it was perhaps there was to be no further score and the game ended 1-0. Congratulations to Murder on Zidane's Floor on their first win of the day. They kept their knockout phase hopes alive going into Round 5.
