Game 7 of Group B was an important fixture for both Dnipro and The Gentleman's Club.

Dnipro had lost both their games to date and really needed to get points on the board sooner rather than later. They were currently 3 points off the knockout phase qualification places. If they fell further behind it would be tough to close that gap with just two games remaining.

The Gentleman's Club had begun well in Round 1 with victory but defeat last time out meant they were sitting in the Plate qualification places. They looked like a team that were gunning for the Cup and three points here would boost their chances.

At half-time there was nothing between the two teams in terms of the score at least. We found ourselves level at 1-1 with goals from David Ribeiro (Dnipro) and David Adekoya (The Gentleman's Club) cancelling each other out. The second half would see a winning goal and that goal would go to Albert de Leeuw of The Gentleman's Club. They were back to winning ways and moved top of Group B although their two closest rivals were yet to play in Round 3.

Milner Street had just seen The Gentleman's Club move above them and they had slipped down to third as a result. However, a win would see them climb from third to first (albeit with City FC having a game in hand). Their opponents would be Armada All Stars who had just claimed their first win in the Sevens. A win for Armada All Stars would see them go top and make it a three team tie on 6 points at the top.

James Gallagher scored to put Milner Street 1-0 ahead in the first half but this game was overshadowed by an injury to one of his team-mates. After an awkward fall, one of the players broke his arm and was attended to on the pitch by our first aider and then a paramedic. This all took some time and it seemed the sensible thing to end this particular game at this point.

It goes without saying we wish the injured player well (we will spare his name for the report for his privacy) and we hope he makes a full and speedy recovery. If it's any consolation, he seemed to enjoy the Ketamin the paramedics administered. A tenuous silver lining perhaps. Anyway, get well soon.

To complete Round 3 we had City FC versus The Bastards. The teams had a fair wait to get this fixture underway although obviously everyone understood the reasons why and the health of the injured player came first. These two teams now needed to switch back into game mode.

City FC had been going well so far today and boasted a 100% record. In this game they broke with tradition by opening the scoring as Charlie Simpson bagged his second goal of the tournament. There was a clean sheet for Matt Garner in goal and as a result City FC had secured their third win of the day. They moved back to the top of the table.

The Bastards were stuck in fifth position but just 2 points off Plate qualification with two games to go so all was not lost for them.
