We had two teams looking for a first win meeting face-to-face at the start of Round 2. Milner Street were looking to build on a solid 0-0 draw in Round 1 and get their first 3 points on the board. Dnipro had an encouraging start against City FC leading 1-0 before going down 3-1. Could they bounce back and start quickly in this one?

This game took on the pattern of Milner Street's first match being closely fought and goals being conspicuous by their absence. The two teams reached the half-time change of ends level at 0-0. It was three consecutive 0-0 halves for Milner Street but that was soon to change.

It was to change in a positive way too as it was they who scored through Jonathan Thomson to go 1-0 up. They remained tight at the back and went on to keep their second clean sheet in a row.

The final score was 1-0 and Milner Street were top of Group B (for a short while anyway).

The Gentleman's Club and City FC were both in action next on Pitch 5. These were our two winning teams from Round 1 of fixtures. A second win would put them top of Group B and be a real statement of intent for the rest of the group phase. Wins beget wins as the psychology of the game comes to the fore both for the confidence of the winners and the fear factor of the teams facing them.

The Gentleman's Club struck first and it was Thom Oosterhof with the strike. City FC had fallen behind in their first game and recovered to secure all 3 points. It was beginning to look like déjà vu as Ben Garner equalised for the English team. The teams changed ends at half-time all level at 1-1.

In the second half City FC were to take the lead with a goal from Nathan Leather. They were 2-1 up and went on to complete victory with the help of a needless red card from The Gentleman's Club. This tactic of giving your opponents a 1-0 head start seemed to be a risky one but it was working for City FC so far!?!

To complete Round 2 we had Armada All Stars versus The Bastards. If you've been following the report for the Fives section you will have seen our preview on the Armada squads. If not, here we go:

Armada had previously played at the 2019 Lisbon Tournament with two teams. Sporting Armada finished 4 th of 7 teams in Group A. They drew their opening game 1-1 with 2017 champions Pangere FC of Brazil before a first win against Black Dog's Bald Club FC. They were defeated 3-0 by eventual champions Indoorsoccer Café O Trem before another 1-1 draw v Missing Magpies. They slipped to a 1-0 defeat against home team Hellgarve's Kraken before ending the group on a high, 6-0, versus Spider Man Ones. They went on to reach the Plate Final after a 5-1 win over Spider Man 2s (in the QF) and 2-0 over Missing Magpies (in the SF). In the Plate Final, Hellgarve Kraken's did the double over Sporting Armada with a 3-1 win.

Athletico Armada had a very up and down group phase as they went win-loss-loss-win-win-loss to finish 4 th of 7 teams in Group B. They enjoyed wins 1-0 over Lads of Lisboa, 3-0 v Indoorsoccer and 6-1 v Spider Man 2s but went down 4-1 to Hampstead Heath Cruisers, 4-0 to PMPCAR and 3-0 to Spider Mans 5hitters. They qualified for the Plate Quarter-Finals were they beat Spider Mans 1s (4-3) but were eliminated against Hellgarve's Kraken in the Semi-Finals (2-0).

Here in Amsterdam they begun with a 3-1 defeat but they bounced back here with a 1-0 win. Tom Vivian's first half goal was enough to give them all 3 points.
