We began Round 3 with Murder on Zidane's Floor versus FC Tpaktop. The first two rounds had produced a top half with three teams on 6 points and a bottom half with three teams yet to get off the mark. We would have two of the teams in the latter category as fourth position took on fifth position. With the table as it was, it was vital the teams took points off those in the same half as them in order to advance their claim for qualification for the knockout phase. It looked like the three teams in the lower half could well be fighting for the second Plate place.

FC Tpaktop were the team to take the initiative in this match as Albert Abutaliev gave his team a 1-0 first half lead. As it turned out, Abutaliev's goal would prove to be the match winner as Murder on Zidane's Floor's hunt for goals and points continued.

FC Tpaktop would no doubt be relieved to get that first win on the board. Could this win be the catalyst to surge up the table.

We would turn our attentions to the top of the table for the next game. The next fixture would be Humble Goats versus Turn Down For Watford. Both teams had a 100% win record, both teams were yet to concede a goal, both teams had been free scoring with 13 goals between them and they occupied the top two positions in the league table courtesy of goal difference. This game could go a long way to deciding which team could make the Cup competition. Colonel Getafe could well have been watching on hoping for a draw so they could leapfrog both these teams with a win in the next game.

It was Humble Goats who continued their excellent start to the tournament. Raphael Antonio Olivero Hernandez scored for the second successive game to put the home team ahead with Matheus Monteiro Alves making it 2-0 by half-time.

Any hopes of a comeback in the second half for Turn Down For Watford were quoshed when Reuben Tetteh scored his second of the day. Humble Goats marched on, 3-0.

Game #9 of Group A would be JK Silvertown versus Colonel Getafe. It was one of the teams at the top against one of those at the bottom. If JK Silvertown could upset the form book they would be back in the mix with two games to go. Colonel Getafe were hunting down a third win on the bounce that would see them join Humble Goats at the top of the table.

Colonel Getafe went on to record their biggest win of the day and hit JK Silvertown for six. Ben Watson set Getafe on their way before Oli Grossman made it 2-0 and Ben Watson scored again for 3-0. Teddy Hanifan had scored in both previous games and he was to keep up his record of scoring in every game as he added a double. Sandwiched in between Hanifan's goals was a hat-trick strike for Ben Watson.

There was some small consolation for JK Silvertown as Jack Kuckstepp scored his team's first goal of the day.

The 6-1 defeat matched their record defeat in our tournaments which was against BSP FC in the Cup Semi-finals of 2017 en route to the title. Colonel Getafe would hope this was an omen and that, they too, were en route to become champions. The margin of victory put them top of Group A on goal difference.
