AFC Blue Boys (Pol)

The start of Round 2 in Group B saw AFC Blue Boys (Poland) take on Argon'ze B (France). AFC Blue Boys were making their first appearance of the day whilst Argon'ze B were aiming to build on their thrilling 3-3 draw against Mironeers FC.

AFC Blue Boys started the match on the front foot, with Karol Stachowicz giving the Polish side an early 1-0 lead. The first half ended with AFC Blue Boys holding onto their slender advantage. The second half saw an explosion of goals, starting with Michal Cedrowski, who netted twice to extend AFC Blue Boys' lead to 3-0. Argon'ze B's Arnaud Wack pulled one back, scoring his fourth goal of the tournament and reducing the deficit to 3-1. Despite Wack's efforts, AFC Blue Boys maintained their attacking momentum.

Michal Cedrowski continued his impressive performance by adding two more goals to his tally, completing his hat-trick and sealing the game for AFC Blue Boys. Cedrowski's dominant display brought the final score to 5-1, securing a comprehensive victory for the Polish team.

Cedrowski's hat-trick was the fifth of the tournament in Group B, underscoring the high-scoring nature of the group and the individual brilliance on display from a number of top quality players across the teams. Argon'ze B, despite their spirited efforts and the goal from Arnaud Wack, found themselves outmatched in this encounter. They would look to regroup and refine their strategies as they continue their quest for success in the tournament.

VK Dons were returning to Amsterdam Fives action 5 years after their debut. In a memorable tournament they began well with a solid 1-1 draw against home side True IT Legends. Match 2 saw another draw, 2-2 against Springfield A before getting their first win on the board against AFC FYM, 3-1. Their unbeaten run continued against Rothmans with a 4-1 win. They finished with a clash against the league leaders The A Team. Sadly for VK Dons they lost 3-2 to the French team which meant they finished third in the table and qualified for the Cup as one of the two best third-placed teams. The quirk of the draw meant they met The A Team again in the Cup Quarter-Finals. The result was a repeat of the group game with The A Team winning 2-1 this time.

They would be making their first game of the 2024 competition against Hosting Threesams. The Threesams had narrowly missed out on points in their opening fixture as they slipped to a 5-4 defeat against Hobbema's. VK Dons had the best of the first half in this one as they quickly established a 2-0 lead with both goals scored by Scott Harrington.

The second half began with Sam Davies Udina scoring his fourth of the day for Hosting Threesams to spark hopes of a comeback. From there, VK Dons moved through the gears. Harry McGhee extended the lead to 3-1 before William Hick increased the lead to 4-1. Scott Harrington completed his hat-trick to make it 5-1 before William Hick's second of the match rounded off the scoring in a 6-1 win. It was a stunning start for VK Dons.

In the sixth game of Group B, Mironeers (Netherlands) faced off against AFC Blue Boys (Poland). Mironeers, who were top of the table, aimed to maintain their position, while AFC Blue Boys, fresh from a commanding 5-1 victory in their first game, looked to climb above their opponents with another win.

AFC Blue Boys made a flying start to the match, demonstrating their attacking prowess right from the beginning. Michal Cedrowski opened the scoring, followed by Jakub Zadykowicz, and then Cedrowski struck again, giving the Polish team a commanding 3-0 lead at halftime.

At the start of the second half, Mironeers tried to mount a comeback, with Ronald Angel finding the net to make it 3-1. However, AFC Blue Boys quickly restored their three-goal cushion as Michal Cedrowski completed his hat-trick, making it 4-1. This was Cedrowski's second hat-trick in as many games, marking the seventh hat-trick in just six Group B matches overall.

Ronald Angel scored again for Mironeers to narrow the gap to 4-2, but AFC Blue Boys were relentless. Cedrowski struck once more, taking his tally to four goals in this match and four in his previous game, solidifying his position as the tournament's leading goal scorer with eight goals.

The final whistle blew with AFC Blue Boys securing a dominant 5-2 victory, propelling them to the top of the Group B table. Cedrowski's outstanding performance and prolific goal-scoring form have been instrumental in AFC Blue Boys' early success and their climb to the summit of the group.
