The opening game of Group B at the 2024 Amsterdam Fives featured a thrilling encounter between Hobbema's (Ned) and Hosting Threesams (Eng), with both teams making their tournament debut. The match delivered an exciting start to the group stage, filled with goals and dramatic twists.

Hobbema's began the game on a strong note as Oliver Rifai opened the scoring, putting the Dutch side 1-0 up. However, Hosting Threesams quickly responded, with Sam Davies Udina netting twice to turn the game around and give his team a 2-1 lead by halftime.

In the second half, Hosting Threesams extended their lead further when Oliver Cobb found the back of the net, making it 3-1. Not to be outdone, Oliver Rifai showcased his goal-scoring prowess by adding two more goals for Hobbema's, leveling the score at 3-3 and completing his hat-trick.

Rik Antone then put Hobbema's ahead with a well-taken goal, giving the Dutch side a 4-3 advantage. However, Sam Davies Udina completed a hat-trick of his own, once again restoring parity at 4-4, and setting up a nail-biting finish.

The decisive moment came when Tjarno Baart stepped up to score the winning goal for Hobbema's, securing a dramatic 5-4 victory for the hosts. The match was a showcase of attacking football and resilience from both teams, setting the tone for an exciting Group B ahead.

The second game of Group B in the 2024 Amsterdam Fives saw Argon'ze B (Fra) take on Mironeers (Ned) in a match that showcased the attacking flair and goal-scoring prowess of both teams.

Mironeers took the early lead through Kachi Ukoh, who found the back of the net to put the Dutch side 1-0 up. The first half concluded with Mironeers holding the advantage, thanks to Ukoh's early strike.

In the second half, Argon'ze B came out with renewed vigor, and Arnaud Wack equalized to bring the French team level at 1-1. However, Kachi Ukoh quickly restored Mironeers' lead, making it 2-1 with his second goal of the match. The pattern of the game continued as Arnaud Wack equalized once more for Argon'ze B.

Not to be outdone, Kachi Ukoh completed his hat-trick, putting Mironeers ahead yet again at 3-2. But the drama was far from over as Arnaud Wack also completed his hat-trick, equalizing for Argon'ze B and securing a 3-3 draw in this pulsating encounter. Group B had started off on fire with four hat-tricks already.

The third game in Group B was due to be AFC Blue Boys v VK Dons but due to a flight cancellation on Friday night we had a re-arranged schedule with VK Dons making the journey to Amsterdam on the morning of the tournament and so we moved this fixture to the end of Group B. Instead, after a short pause for Mironeers FC to catch their breath, they were in action again versus Hobbema's. The former were looking to build upon their opening point whilst Hobbema's were aiming to make it two wins and take a substantial early lead at the top of Group B.

Kachi Ukoh was Mironeer's hat-trick hero in their previous game and he carried that goal scoring touch into this game as he gave his team a 1-0 lead at the break, just as he did against Argon'ze B. History was repeating itself as Hobbema's equalised through Jasper van Bremen.

Mironeers FC had now taken the lead 4 times in this tournament and each team they had been pegged back. They took the lead for a fifth time and the second time in this game with Hung Le putting them 2-1 up. For the first time today they had the luxury of a two goal cushion with Kachi Ukoh bagging his fifth of the tournament. The two goal lead was enough to see them take victory, 3-1. The result meant that Mironeers FC jumped to the top of the table.
