Game
14 was crunch time for Double Ya Dosage as they
met Rovers United. Rovers United already knew
this would be their final game of the tournament
as the best they could finish was 5th. Double
Ya Dosage were currently in 5th and just outside
the Plate qualification places but a win here
would put them in 3rd place and guarantee their
place in the afternoon knock-out phase. A draw
would see them hoping for a Fat Ginger Kids
defeat in the last game of the group. For Double
Ya Dosage a defeat was unthinkable and mean
elimination.
Defeat
was staring them in the face though as Rovers
United opened up a 2-1 lead as Dave Cotton and
Nelson Milner found the net. Luke Beckingham
had found the net for Double Ya Dosage who needed
to dig out a second half performance to maintain
their presence in the tournament.
Rovers
United were hoping to go out with a bang and
hold on to a first victory of the day. Matthew
Surman dented their hopes when he equalized
to make it 2-2. Momentum was with Double Ya
Dosage now and could they find the third goal
that would guarantee their place in the Plate
– the answer was yes and they secured a 3-2
win. They'd left it late but they'd done enough.
