As we entered the final Round of games there was much to play for many teams. So, what did the teams need to do in the first of these games? Well, Athletico Do Hollande were the one team with nothing to worry about as they would be Group B champions regardless but had a 100% record to maintain. The Missing Magpies needed a draw to make the Cup. They could even afford a defeat if RFM failed to win or won with a goal difference swing of less than 2 goals. Anything else and they would be playing in the Plate.

With due respect to Missing Magpies it was probably a surprise to many when they took a 1-0 lead as Luke Bird took full advantage of a defensive mix-up to put the Magpies ahead. They were ahead for quite a well and looked in control but they couldn't hold out until the break as Gilliano Tollaway made it 1-1. In the second half Edson Lopes Tavares scored a winner to make it 2-1 and that's how it finished.

It was a great performance by the Missing Magpies who pushed Athletico Do Hollande all the way. However, they were empty handed and as a result would need to keep an eye on the RFM game to see if they had done enough to qualify for the Cup.

The final game of Group B was Fat Ginger Kids versus RFM. Let's look at the permutations for the two teams…for Fat Ginger Kids it was a must win game to make the Plate. Anything less for them and they would be out. For RFM it was a must win game to make the Cup and they would need to win by two goals or more – anything less and they would be in the Plate.

With so much to play for this game could go one of two ways – very tight and low scoring with teams cautious not to make mistakes or high scoring with the two teams going hell for leather to claim victory. Usually the latter requires an early goal to set things up but we didn't get it in this game as we reached half-time level at 0-0.

In the second period who could score that vital goal? The pressure was maybe on RFM a little bit more as they needed a 2-goal win but for the moment a one-goal lead was proving difficult. As the game went on it looked increasingly like they would be playing in the Plate and the Missing Magpies would be taking the Cup place. Needing only one goal the Fat Ginger Kids quest remained hopeful into the last kick of the game. They needed to score or they were out. When the referee blew the final whistle to bring Group B to a close we were still level at 0-0.

It meant Athletico Do Hollande and Missing Magpies would progress to the Cup. RFM would take their place alongside Double Ya Dosage in the Plate but sadly we had to say farewell to the Fat Ginger Kids and Rovers United…for today anyway. We hoped to see them again in tournament action in the future.
