Next
in action was Missing Magpies against Fat Ginger
Kids. Missing Magpies were so far unbeaten and
their progress going a little unnoticed as they
started off with two draws but a win here and
they would move on to 8 points. Cup qualification
was very much within their reach. Their nearest
challengers were Fat Ginger Kids who could leapfrog
their opponents into 2nd place with a win. A
draw would keep it interesting going into the
final round of games but defeat for Fat Ginger
Kids would end their Cup hopes.
The
game was a closely fought one and the teams
shared the goals in the opening half as Pete
Bell opened his account for the day which cancelled
out a strike from the man they call “Loin King”
for the Fat Ginger Kids. In the second half
there was still not much in it but the goals
kept coming. In the end it was Missing Magpies
who claimed the victory with the odd goal in
3 as Tom Bird and Henry Pescod scored the goals
that earned Missing Magpies all 3 points and
outgunned the George Webster strike for the
Fat Ginger Kids.
