Room
20 and CEPL were next up. CEPL were in pole
position going into Round 5 with a 2 point lead
and a relatively strong goal difference which
meant (especially with the result above) that
a draw would be good enough for them to qualify
for the Cup. A win for CEPL would see them crowned
Group A champions and with it avoid Athletico
Do Hollande in the Cup Semi-Finals who were
proving all-conquering in Group B.
Things
were a little more complex for Room 20 who needed
a win to qualify for the Cup as they would go
top on goal difference over Wilhelmus with just
a game to go. A draw would see their likely
fate in the Plate competition and defeat would
see them at risk of going out – it was going
to be a hugely important game for them.
Room
20 handled the pressure with admirable ease
and took the early initiative in this game with
a goal from Harry Holder. They led 1-0 at half-time
and for most of the second half. CEPL were coming
back strong and Room 20 were repelling most
of the attacks but they couldn't hold out for
the whole game. With virtually the last kick
of the game Prcemek Kranczyk hit the equalizer
and with it ended Room 20's Cup hopes. It was
a vital goal for CEPL though as they secured
Cup qualification. It was a bitter pill for
Room 20 who'd worked so hard but a draw was
still a fine result – we are sure it feels like
a defeat though.
