Next
up on Pitch A was Wilhelmus versus Drum Major
FC. We were delighted to welcome back Wilhelmus
to compete in their 3rd eurofootballfives.com
tournament. The team travelled from The Hague
to compete in the competition and were looking
to improve on their previous best - Plate Semi-Finals
in both 2009 and 2010 when they went out to
the eventual Plate winners on both occasions.
Drum
Major FC were making their debut and so were
an unknown quantity in eurofootballfives.com
competition. Things didn't start too well for
them as Michael Sanderson put Wilhelmus 1-0
up. Drum Major FC hit back through Christian
Leslie to make things 1-1 and things were looking
brighter. They were unable to maintain parity
until half-time though as Sanderson restored
the Wilhelmus lead and it was the Dutch team
who lead 2-1 at the break.
Drum
Major FC were showing they were not a team to
be defeated easily as Matt Buck drew them level
for the second time in the game as he made it
2-2. It was a goal that would earn them a good
opening point.
