It
was great to be back in Krakow - a city that holds
a special place in our hearts as the setting for
our very first tournament back in 2007. 16 years
on it was Colonel Getafe celebrating victory after
an unbeaten 7 game run that saw them finish as
tournament top scorers and boast the best goal
difference of all teams. They were made to work
hard for it in the Cup Final as Turn Down For
Watford pushed them all the way. The 2022 Amsterdam
Sevens Plate winners twice came from behind to
set up a penalty shoot-out to decide the title.
It was Colonel Getafe who won it with a Joe Garvey
strike but special mention to Alex Staggs in goal
who saved two penalties.
In
the Plate competition there was success for Big
Time Krakow as they added the 2023 Krakow Trophy
Plate to the 2017 Krakow Trophy Cup and 2019 Gddansk
Tournament Cup. They defeated Mngball FC (Eng)
2-0 in the Plate Final. A great debut for the
English team.
The
personal honours were claimed by Oli Grossman
of Colonel Getafe who scored 9 goals on the day.
It
was another fantastic weekend in Krakow and we
can't wait to return in 2024. |
