With their first games under their belts it was Round 2 for all the teams in Group A and time to settle in to the tournament. Up next on Boisko A was Colonel Getafe versus TaHu.

Colonel Getafe were making a second appearance in our events after an impressive debut at the 2022 Amsterdam Sevens. They had a 100% record after four games with wins over Murder on Zidane's Floor (Hol), FC Tpaktop (CIS), JK Silvertown (Eng) and Turn Down For Watford (Eng). They had scored 12 goals and conceded just 2. In a top of the table decider they drew 0-0 with Humble Goats to progress to the Cup as Group A winners on goal difference. They looked like they could well be the champions but a 1-0 defeat to The Gentleman's Club (Hol) in the Cup SF prematurely ended their day. Before the event we thought they'd be a team to watch out for the title and an opening win today helped reinforce that view.

Colonel Getafe continued to impress in the first half here. They took a commanding 2-0 lead over TaHu, with Oli Grossman showcasing his goal-scoring prowess. Grossman had netted in their previous victory and was in fine touch once again. He bagged both goals before the halftime whistle, giving Colonel Getafe a comfortable advantage. As the second half unfolded, TaHu fought valiantly to get back into the game, but the solid defence of Colonel Getafe remained unyielding – a second clean sheet for Alex Staggs. At the other end, Oli Grossman completed his hat-trick, scoring his fourth goal of the tournament, and sealing a 3-0 victory for his team.

Krwiodawcow Cracovii made their debut in our tournaments at the 2022 Krakow Veterans Tournament. It was a tough baptism of fire when they met fellow Polish team Wtorek Veterans and lost 4-0. They quickly bounced back with a 2-1 win over Bure Park Old Boys. It was 2 wins on the spin when they defeated Eggy Bhaji FC, 4-1. They were up against Galbarnia that would decide whether they would reach the Cup or Plate, they lost 6-0. In the Plate Semi-Finals they drew 3-3 with Bure Park Seniors before emerging victorious 5-4 on penalties. They set up a rematch against Bure Park Old Boys and did the double over them (1-0) as they claimed the Plate victory.

In a thrilling all-Polish clash in 2023, Krwiodawcow Cracovii faced off against Alea Iacta Est in a match that promised local pride and intense competition. They were looking to bounce back from a heavy defeat first time out. The first half saw Krwiodawcow Cracovii taking the lead, thanks to a beautifully executed penalty by Ian Corkill. His spot-kick found the top left corner of the net with precision, giving the home team a 1-0 advantage. However, Alea Iacta Est showed their resilience and determination. They managed to level the score before halftime, as Piotr Malenczak found the back of the net.

Despite the best efforts of both sides in the second half, neither team could break the deadlock. The defences held strong, and the match ended in a hard-fought 1-1 draw. It was a first point on the board for both teams as they looked to kickstart their campaigns.

The Krakow Trophy tournament continued to deliver excitement as Moles Salah faced off against Skidmarks in a match that had us buzzing with anticipation. It would be the third part of a trilogy of matches that dated back to the 2022 Lisbon Tournament. The two teams met twice on that occasion with Moles Salah winning the first installment (2-0) in the group phase. Skidmarks took their revenge (2-1) when they met in the Trophy Final.

Both teams came into the match in good early form with a 6-0 win for Moles Salah and a 4-0 win for Skidmarks. Skidmarks wasted no time in making their mark on this game as Ashley Britten opened the scoring early. However, Moles Salah quickly responded, leveling the score at 1-1 thanks to a goal from Edward McGovern (who had scored against Skidmarks in the group stage in Lisbon). The seesaw battle continued as Skidmarks' Ricki Keeley found the back of the net for the second game running, restoring their lead at 2-1. Jamie Dewinter extended the lead further with a well-taken goal, making it 3-1 in favor of Skidmarks. Moles Salah was dealt a further blow when an unfortunate own goal added to their woes, pushing the score to 4-1 in favor of Skidmarks.
