JNJ Russia A (Rus)

Group B began with Fi Tighe FC (Eng) taking on JNJ Serbia. JNJ Serbia featured in Group B of the 2012 JNJ Euro Soccer Tournament and finished 2 nd in their group to qualify for the elite Cup competition. They ran into the eventual winners at the Quarter-Final stage and went out. Can they go further in Budapest?

Fi Tighe FC played in Prague last year as JNJ Medical. They were in the same Group B as JNJ Serbia finishing 5th in their group and progressing to the Plate competition. Here they met Slavoj Consumer of the Czech Republic and they went out 3-0.

When the two teams met last year, JNJ Serbia edged out a close contest 2-1. This year the teams were even closer and could not be separated as the match finished 0-0. It was a solid start and only time would tell if it was a point gained or two points dropped.

Match 2 saw JNJ High Wycombe B take on Disaster of Holland. Group A had already seen these two teams' sister squads get their challenge underway. The English had started with a win, the Dutch had started with a defeat (although not against each other). How would this one fare?

We had no past records to judge as JNJ Holland were on their debut – would they be stronger or weaker than their other squad. We could ask the same question about JNJ High Wycombe B as this was the first time High Wycombe had entered two squads and most of the B squad were on debut too.

The early initiative in this game went to Disaster as Niels Haven struck the first goal f Group B. It was a first half goal that proved to be the only goal of the game. There was no way back for JNJ High Wycombe B as they slipped to opening game defeat. Disaster had the perfect start with 3 points.

The final teams in Group B to start their challenge were Slavoj Consumer versus JNJ Russia A. Slavoj Consumer had a slow start to their 2012 campaign with 2 defeats and 2 draws in their group before an 8-0 win kickstarted their challenge. They qualified for the Plate and won their Quarter-Final 3-0, Semi-Final on penalties and completed a 3-1 victory in the Final over JNJ Pinewood. Can they repeat success in Budapest?

As we have seen already JNJ Russia also played in the Prague tournament. There was success for JNJ Russia A as they won the Group A title with a 100% record (a group that featured eventual winners JNJ Croatia). The A team went out to JNJ High Wycombe at the Quarter-Finals stage and were hoping to go further this year.

On the pitch Andrey Sheremetyev scored a goal in each half for JNJ Russia A and they ran out 2-0 victors.
