Round 4 of Group A began with a top versus bottom clash as High Wycombe A met Hup Holland Hup. The form book suggested this could be a big home win. High Wycombe A had a maximum 3 wins, 9 points and still no goals conceded. Hup Holland Hup had 3 defeats, 0 points and just the one goal to their name.

It looked all the world that JNJ High Wycombe A would seal their place in the Cup competition in this fixture and when they went 1-0 up through Alex Parkinson in the opening half it looked like the game would be a breeze. The English team did not have it all their own way though.

For all JNJ High Wycombe A's possession, chances and attacking intent they were unable to breach the Dutch defence a second time. Hup Holland Hup played superbly to keep the deficit down. It didn't look like they would equalize but they kept the result more than respectable and worked hard for this result – possibly their best performance yet.

JNJ High Wycombe A did indeed take their fourth win and clinch Cup qualification with a game to spare. Hup Holland Hup's Plate qualification hopes were hanging by a thread.

JNJ Pencoed had just earned their first victory and if they could take this momentum on and put a string of results together Cup qualification was in reach but they needed victories. They met JNJ Wuppertal who were also upwardly mobile having won their last two games. This was a massive game in the context of Group A. If JNJ Pencoed could win it they would make a 3-way tie in 2nd place on 6 points (with JNJ Russia B still to play below). A win for JNJ Wuppertal would put them in pole position for the Cup and wipe out Pencoed's chances in the process.

The win against GBS Reds had done wonders for JNJ Pencoed's morale and they surged into a 2-0 lead against their opponents from Wuppertal. Hefin Davies started the bal rolling with his second goal in as many games and Lyndon Thomas made it 2-0. We were still to reach half-time.

JNJ Wuppertal had it all to do in the second half and had a mountain to climb. Welsh hearts must have been pumping harder when Christavao Mendes Fernandes scored his third of the day to pull it back to 2-1. JNJ Wuppertal were unable to find an equalizer and they slipped to a 2-1 defeat. It was a huge blow for their Cup qualification chances.

For JNJ Pencoed it was a superb win, 2 in a row now for them. They now had a chance to make the Cup themselves but almost certainly had secured a Plate place at the very least.

Round 4 would be concluded with JNJ Russia B taking on GBS Reds. Despite just the one narrow 1-0 defeat, JNJ Russia B had seen JNJ Pencoed and JNJ Wuppertal catch them up on 6 points. They needed a result here to push into 2nd place outright and put them in pole position to take the second Cup qualification place. However, if GBS Reds could grab victory it would mean four teams level on 6 points and make it really interesting going into the final round of games.

The game started with JNJ Russia B on the front foot and once they took the lead through Maksim Isaev the result never looked in doubt. Gaspar Arutyumov made it 2-0 and at half-time all looked good for Russian supporters. In the second half the same two players, Maksim Isaev and Gaspar Arutyumov, made it 4-0 before Gaspar Arutyumov completed his hat-trick.

It was a superb 5-0 win for JNJ Russia B and firmly established them in second place in Group B, enhanced their goal difference and struck a blow against JNJ Pencoed and JNJ Wuppertal.

For GBS Reds, it looked like they would miss out on the knock-out stages but they could still pull a rabbit from the hat in Round 5.
