Inter Women and CEPL would kick us off on Pitch A in the first game of Round 5. The English team were unbeaten in 3 but with two successive draws were hunting down 3 points. CEPL had so far had mixed fortunes with two wins and two defeats. Both teams could stake a claim for group leader with a win here.

It was Inter Women who staked the strongest claim as they stormed into a 3-0 lead at the interval as two goals from Ronnie Powell and one from Dave Foran put them in control. When Daniel Powell made it 4-0 in the second period their run of draws were over and their second victory was in the bag.

The action was not over just yet as there was still time for Rakesh Dewoe to score twice for CEPL but unfortunately for the Dutch there was also still time for Ronnie and Daniel Powell to each go on and complete their hat-tricks. Final score, 7-2.

On Pitch C we would have the pleasure of watching Brighton & Hove Rockets take on the unpredictable Goals Aloud. Brighton & Hove Rockets had just secured their first point of the tournament and needed to build on this in order to make the Cup and needed to do it in this game.

So far Goals Aloud had produced two good displays one with a win, one with a narrow loss plus suffered heavy defeat. Which Goals Aloud team would turn up in this game? It was the top quality performing side of the Welsh team as they heaped misery on Brighton & Hove Rockets. The Welsh led 3-0 at half-time and by full-time they had extended this to 5-1. The main architect of the victory was Stephen Ollier who claimed a hat-trick. There were also goals to celebrate from Sam Hall and Andrew Haines.
