The Plate Semi-Finals began with Wilhelmus B against Dark Horses. On the eve of Holland 's appearance in the World Cup Final Wilhelmus B were the Dutch's last hope of glory in the 2010 Amsterdam Fives. They were the top Dutch team in this tournament and their 3rd placed finish in Group B earned them the right to meet Group A's 4th placed team.

Wilhelmus B's progression to this stage was largely on the back of their defence. This would be tested in this match as they came up against one of the tournament's form strikers in the shape of Richard Walker. He had five goals to date and was to add to this tally in the Semi-Final. He was a two-goal hero for the Dark Horses whilst at the other end Alex Clarke and the rest of his defence kept the Wilhelmus B front line at bay to earn a clean sheet. The final result of 2-0 had earned the Dark Horses a Plate Final on debut. Wilhelmus B's day was over and the Dutch challenge for this year was over – we look forward to seeing them back in action next year.

The second Semi-Final saw CUGO meet Crouch End Rangers. CUGO were arguably the favourites for the Plate competition with 4 wins out of 5 in the group stage and were unlucky to miss out on the Cup. The team with the unenviable task of facing them was Crouch End Rangers. Crouch End Rangers had a mixed bag of results so far and would need to summon up their top form to reach the final.

CUGO were in no mood to let their group phase form slip and took the lead through Stephen Kilshaw. Crouch End Rangers task was now even more difficult as they were not only behind but now vulnerable to the counter attack if they chased the equaliser too fervently. Neil Sounness doubled CUGO's lead to make it 2-0 and from there they never looked back. Stephen Maxwell added number three (his 6 th of the tournament) and Stephen Gullan rounded off the scoring to make it 4-0.

CUGO had reached the final and would become the third Scottish participants in a eurofootballfives.com final after Red Light Runners 2008 Krakow Trophy win and 2008 Barca Fivs runners-up performance. Crouch End Rangers' day was done and they could relax in the bar and watch the rest of the tournament with a nice cool beer in hand!
