Wilhelmus
B were looking to follow in the footsteps of the
Bulgarians by making it two wins out of two. They
faced a Kings Old Boys team who had played well
for no reward first time out. Both teams had close
first games and this second game was proving equally
close. There was not much to choose between the
two teams and when the deadlock was broken it
was a scrappy goal that owed much to the dogged
determination of Kings Old Boys captain, Michael
Diprose, who showed great perseverance to scramble
the ball over the line for a 1-0 lead.
It
was a lead they were to hold on to until half
time and for much of the second half. It looked
as if Kings Old Boys would earn their three points
until the other captain, Uros Mijuskovic, put
Wilhelmus B level at 1-1. That was not the end
of the scoring and Wilhelmus B could be forgiven
for thinking they' had rescured the draw but Martyn
Kent had other ideas as he snatched a late winner
to make it 2-1. It was a great climax to the game
and a result that left both teams on 3 points.
Crouch
End Rangers were the next team due on but they
could take a rest in the scorching Amsterdam heat
as they claimed their 3 walkover points against
the missing Bosco squad. |
