As we go into the all important 5th and final round of games lets put the walkover points on the board for CUGO to see where we stand. The Scots sat on 12 points and they needed to hope that one or both of Goldsmith Williams or Duevi 1997 would fail to win and in the case of Duevi 1997 fail to improve their goal difference in order to make the Cup. CUGO would play in the Plate competition if results did not go their way.

The first team into battle was Duevi 1997 who would meet Wilhelmus A. The Italians got off to just the start they wanted as they raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to the goals of Alessio Covella and Antoni Gentile. The second half proved to be a much more even contest but the Italians first half performance and gave them enough of a cushion to run out 4-2 winners overall. In the second half Alessio Covella scored two more to complete the first hat-trick of Group B. The hat-trick sent him soaring up the goalscoring charts and put him on 6 in 4 games and he was now the man to shoot at. The result proved just enough to see them leapfrog CUGO into second on goals scored.

CUGO's hopes of Cup qualification now relied on Goldsmith Williams dropping points. Goldsmith Williams met a Dark Horses team who could still make the Cup with a 4-0 win. This was always going to be unlikely against a Goldsmith Williams team who had only lost twice in 24 games and both of those were by the odd goal. The Dark Horses matched their opponents for long periods of the game but in a close contest their Cup hopes were diminishing as the minutes passed. In the end we were to witness three goals in the game and it was Goldsmith Williams who finished on the right end of the scoreline as they completed a 2-1 victory. It may come as no surprise that Liam Currie was the man in the goals again as he took his tally to 7 for the day and move ahead of Alessio Covella. The Dark Horses goal which ultimately proved to be a consolation was scored by Richard Walker who advanced his personal tally to 5 for the day.

Dark Horses would continue their challenge for silverware in the Plate competition where they would be joined by CUGO of Scotland. Please spare a thought for CUGO who can consider themselves extremely unlucky to claim 12 group points and only finish 3rd .

Goldsmith Williams and Duevi 1997 would proceed to the Cup and the observant amongst you may well have noted that by winning the Group, Goldsmith Williams would keep alive the hopes of a Goldsmith Williams versus Lozenetz City final and a rematch of the epic 2009 Prague Masters final.
