Red Cow Belgrade were back in action against FC Hollywood at the start of Round 3. The home named team had struggled in the early couple of rounds but if they could get a result here all was not lost. In Round 3 they had the unenviable task of facing FC Hollywood who had played well today even though they only had 1 point to show for their efforts. FC Hollywood also needed the points.

At half-time it was honours even as both defences had blunted what the opposition could throw at them and the scorers were untroubled. It was 0-0 at the break. A draw would not be much use to either team (although clearly more welcome than defeat) in the wider context of Group B so could anyone push on to claim a vital victory?

The game would not finish 0-0 though as FC Hollywood broke the deadlock. The goal acted as a catalyst for FC Hollywood who went from strength to strength as 1-0 became 2-0 which in turn became 3-0. There were goals for Seb Piper, James Staroszczuk and Tez Lowe.

The result pushed FC Hollywood right into the mix in 3rd position. Red Cow Belgrade would walk away from the game empty handed again.

 
 
 

Scoregasm and Galacticos both came into Round 3 on the back of their first victory of the day. If either could continue this momentum they could join/surpass Mini FC at the top (although Mini FC would have a game in hand).

It didn't start well for Scoregasm as Mauro Cardoso's fourth goal of the tournament put Galacticos 1-0 up. They were unable to maintain the lead until the break though as Marc Milton levelled things up at 1-1. It could have got even better for Scoregasm as Joe Dolling came close to a second and then Bradley Cross hit the post shortly before half-time.

Scoregasm were certainly in the ascendency and just after half-time Ross Penrose forced the Portuguese goalkeeper to tip over the bar. There were then a couple of goalmouth scrambles as the English team chased victory and it was a victory they were to achieve when Ross Penrose converted and the comeback was complete.

It was a well-deserved victory for Scoregasm who now joined Mini FC at the top of Group B on 6 points. The result saw Galacticos slip from 2nd place to 4th.

 
 
 

Mini FC now had the chance to open up a lead at the top with a draw or a victory as they faced 11 Esperancas Faz Clube. 11 Esperancas had won their opening game but just tasted defeat so would need to respond now to keep their challenge on track – a win for them would make it a 3-way tie at the top.

At half-time we were no nearer to knowing who would emerge triumphant as we were locked together at 0-0. A draw would be a useful point to both teams but all 3 points would prove to be hugely valuable.

In the end Mini FC did manage to claim victory by the narrowest of margins, 1-0. They had Domingo Arsenio to thank for the win as he converted his golden chance. Mini FC were top of the pile by 3 points. 11 Esperancas Faz Clube who could have had a share of the lead with a win now found themselves languishing in 5th position.
