The first game in Round 4 was Quayaquil 100% playing host to Midway FC. The form book suggested a home win as the team representing Ecuador had won their last two games scoring 9 goals in the process. Midway FC had scored one in three games but had to find the net here as a win would give them hope of qualification, a draw would help slightly but a defeat would all but secure their exit unless something remarkable happened in Round 5.

As it turned out the form book was correct – but only just. Midway FC more than held their own and Quayaquil 100% had to fight to earn all three points. At the end of the game there was only one goal in it to separate the teams. Joel Cuedillos had been one of the stars of the day for the Ecuador team and he proved it again as his strike meant we had yet another new leader in Group B.

Unfortunately for Midway FC the quality of their performance resulted in no points and they were being cut adrift at the foot of the table from the all-important 4th place for Plate qualification.

Arenal All Stars went into their fourth game in a very similar position to that of Midway FC – they needed to win to also avoid being cut adrift. Inter Urmum in contrast were looking at the other end of the table knowing a win would see them join Quayaquil 100% at the top on 9 points and needing a 4 goal to win go top on goal difference.

Everything was going to plan for Inter Urmum at half-time as they led 2-0 through Harry Pritchard and then Chris Aldred who had each been amongst the goals throughout this group. It was far from going to plan for Arenal All Stars and the Spanish team needed a comeback to see their qualification hopes go up in smoke.

Although the second half was an improvement for Arenal All Stars, the fact there was no goals did not really help either team's cause. Arenal All Stars still went down to defeat and Inter Urmum did not get the desired goal difference to go directly top – they had the consolation of being second by the narrowest of margins though.

The final game of Round 4 was FC Dukesfield who had slipped to third since they were last in action but with the chance to go back to the top should they be able to claim victory against 4th placed team Scorgasm FC. Scorgasm knew a win for them would see them go 3rd and keep a Cup place within their reach – anything else would mean this was out of their hands.

It was Scorgasm FC who opened the scoring through Marc Milton's first goal of the day and what a time to get it. What a crucial goal this could be and it also marked the first goal that FC Dukesfield had conceded. How would FC Dukesfield respond to going behind for the first time? Pretty well was the answer but Scorgasm FC had enough in the tank to see goalkeeper Liam Savill keep his second clean sheet of the day.

It was a great result for Scorgasm FC that saw 1st and 4th place separated by just two points. FC Dukesfield, without doing too much wrong, had slipped from 1st to 4th – a cruel turn of events.
