Both Midway FC and Scorgasm FC had already ensured that their tour to the 2011 Mallorca Tournament would not be pointless as they both had first game draws behind them as they went into Round 2.

 

This game was an opportunity to kick on and make their mark in Group B whilst a draw or defeat would leave them with a fair bit of work to do in the final three games. Scorgasm FC had to come from behind against Arenal All Stars but in this fixture it was them that scored the first goal with Ross Penrose scoring for the second game running. It was a lead they were to keep until half-time.

 

In the second-half could Midway FC come back or would Scorgasm FC kick on? Bradley Cross made it 2-0 to make Midway's task even more difficult and when Sam Milton made it 3-0 the match was settled and all 3 points in the bag. It was a big result in a close group and one that sent Scorgasm FC top of the table albeit early doors. There was still time for Midway FC to come back as CSF were proving in Group A.

 
 
 

Inter Urmum went into Round 2 looking to maintain a 100% record that would give them an early stranglehold on Group B. Their opposition would be FC Dukesfield who had secured a 0-0 draw in their first game. Things were not going to plan though for Inter Urmum as Michael Crane scored the first goal of the tournament for FC Dukesfield. It was an early goal in the opening period that was to prove to be the defining strike of the game as neither side could add to the scoring.

 

When the referee blew the final whistle to bring down the curtain of this fixture it remained 1-0 and FC Dukesfield climbed above Inter Urmum in the Group B standings to join Scorgasm FC on top with 4 points. Inter Urmum had the luxury of a win behind them so they were still riding high but needed to return to winning ways soon.

 
 
 

We finished off Round 2 with the Ecuador verus Spain fixture of Quayaquil 100% against Arenal All Stars. If anyone needed a win in Round 2 it was Quayaquil 100% as they were the only team without a point on the board. They started off going the right way about it as Damian Bazau and then Joel Cuedillos gave them a 2-0 lead.

 

Arenal All Stars had led in their opening game before being pegged back for a draw. They had now conceded three without a reply and needed to arrest this trend to comeback in this game. Whilst they did score through Lee Baynes second in as many goals they were shipping them at the other end. Piero Zapata scored a third for Quayaquil 100% before Cuedillos popped up with two more to score his hat-trick. The final score of 5-1 put the team representing Ecuador in 3rd place, a point off top and right back in this group. Arenal All Stars slipped to 6th but there was plenty of football left to play in Group B.
