Wola
kicked off Round 2 of games looking to build on
their good start and make it two wins out of two.
Their opposition was Borussia Dorchmen who were
looking to put the effects of a 3-0 opening game
defeat to one side and redress the balance in
this one. It was not to be though and in fact
it got worse for the Dorchmen as they found themselves
on the wrong end of a bit of thumping. Wola hit
them for 7 without reply with Tomasz Gorowski
the main architect of their downfall grabbing
5 goals for his troubles. Fryderyk Ogorek also
got on the scoresheet to complete a 7-0 win. The
result meant that Wola had a maximum six points,
scored 9 and were yet to concede a goal – ominous
for the other teams in Group B. Dorchmen found
themselves up against it still looking to get
off the mark both in terms of points and goals.
The
next game saw Radio Taxi Barbakan take to the
field for the first time against the Rigford Seahawks.
Maybe the game off in round 1 would see them fresh
for the challenge or maybe it would catch them
rusty. The forwards were certainly not rusty as
Pisczek Romek scored twice as Barbakan put 3 past
the Seahawks. The defence on the other hand may
have been caught cold as the Seahawks matched
Wola with a magnificent 7 goals of their own.
Bent Kent got the first two to set them on their
way with further goals from Richard Clements,
Richard Butterworth, Tom Hallam (2) and Chris
Howard. The final score, 7-3.
In
the other fixture in this round, DHL Prague Red
picked up their first 3 points courtesy of Hutnik
Krakow's regrettable forced withdrawal from the
tournament at the last minute due to unforeseen
circumstances.
