JNJ Russia (Rus) are 2 times-winners of this tournament and the only team to compete in every event since the inaugural tournament in Prague 2012! They have had quite some success as we can see from their history:

Prague 2012: A team won Group. Cup Quarter-Finals.

Prague 2012: B team 3rd in group. Cup Semi-Finals.

Budapest 2013: Won Group. Champions. Artem Khodas – top goalscorer.

Bratislava 2014: A team 3rd in group. Plate Runners-Up

Bratislava 2014: B team 3rd in group. Plate Winners. Gaspar Arutyunov - top goalscorer.

Prague 2015: 2nd in group. Cup Runners-Up.

Krakow 2016: Won Group. Champions.

Bratislava 2017: 3rd in group. Cup Quarter-Finals.

Budapest 2018: 2nd in group. Cup Semi-Finals.

So far JNJ Russia had 3 wins from 3 but their two toughest tests awaited as their final games were against the two teams immediately below them starting with Janssen Portugal.

JNJ Russia lead through Alexander Rimskiy but they were pegged back by a goal from Bernardo Rodrigues. 1-1 at half-time.

Tiago Neves put Janssen Portugal 2-1 up in the second half but this time it JNJ Russia to equalize thanks to Oleg Sakmaev. 2-2 at full-time.

JNJ Estonia & Lithunia (Est) entered their fourth game at the foot of the table. A win-win finish could lift them up to fourth place potentially. Actelion FC were currently the team in fourth place – they had to win this game to keep their hopes of Cup qualification alive. It would put them 2 points behind Janssen Portugal with one round of fixtures to go.

Actelion FC drew first blood as Davide Gruel bagged his third goal of the day. There was joy though for JNJ Estonia & Lithunia. Goktug Babatas scored his team's first goal of the day and first in the JNJ Euro Soccer Tournament. 1-1.

They were not level for long as goals from Davide Gruel, Colin Malcolm and Martin Kirwan made it 4-1 at the break. Jimi Raine made it 5-1 before JNJ Estonia & Lithunia had another goal to cheer – Antanas Siauciunas this time. Jimi Raine and Davide Gruel (x2) then put the finishing touches on an 8-2 win for the Swiss team.

EDC (Ire) made their debut at the 2017 JNJ Euro Soccer Tournament. They secured a creditable 2-2 draw against Janssen Portugal in their opening game but results tailed off in what was a very tough group. They qualified for the Plate competition and met Cilag Team 2 of Switzerland. The game finished 3-3 in normal time but the Swiss won the penalty shoot-out, 1-0, to progress.

The Irish returned to the 2018 tournament in Budapest and challenged with 2 teams. It was tough going for both teams – they each finished 7th in their group. In the Plate Quarter-Finals they both went out to narrow defeats. EDC1 lost 2-1 to JNJ Maidenhead whilst EDC2 lost 1-0 to Nordic Vikings. They concentrate their strengths into 1 squad for Riga.

So far they had 3 defeats today and it was likely to be a tough game v Capital Park Leeds Blues who had the opportunity to go joint top thanks to the draw between Janssen Portugal and JNJ Russia on Pitch A.

Capital Park Leeds Blues took full advantage as they ran out 5-2 victors in this one. They lead 3-1 at half-time thanks to a Liam Robinson double and another goal from Dave Jobe. Aidan O'Neill kept his team in the hunt at 3-1. The second half saw Javier Sanchez-Infante Alvarez reduce the English team's lead to 3-2. Enter Liam Robinson – he added another two goals to his tally to kill off the EDC comeback. Capital Park Leeds Blues were top!
