EDC (Ire) and Janssen Portugal (Por) were up next in Group B. In Round 1, the Irish team had succumbed to two late goals to end up empty handed in a 2-0 defeat. Janssen Portugal also conceded two second half goals as they finished with 1 point instead of 3. Both teams would be aiming to get their first win on the board here.

These two teams had before back in Group C of the 2017 edition of the tournament in Bratislava. That game resulted in a 2-2 draw. Bernardo Rodrigues and Joao Correia scored the goals that day and were both here in action for the Portuguese here in 2019. EDC were missing their scorers from that day (Simone Sogliani and Victor Navas)

Bernardo Rodrigues was on target again for Janssen Portugal in this fixture. He scored the first two goals of the game to put his team into the ascendency. Tiago Santos and Nuno Cunho made it 4-0 at the break. In the second half Martin Ryan reduced the lead to 4-1 from the penalty spot but normal service was resumed by Portugal when Nuno Cunha and Bernardo Rodrigues (hat-trick) finished off a 6-1 win.

Actellion FC (Swi) made their debut at last year's tournament in Budapest. They were drawn in Group B and lost their opener 2-0 to JNJ Turkey (the eventual champions). They then picked up their first win, 2-0, versus JNJ Maidenhead which was part of a run of 3 wins and 1 draw from 4 games. Defeat in their final group game (3-0 v JNJ Poland) meant they finished in fourth position in the table. This meant they had a tough Quarter-Final draw against the winners of Group A and Actelion FC went out 2-0 to Beeston Operation Leeds (Eng).

Their second fixture was against JNJ Russia. Actelion FC won their first game 2-0 but this was surely to be a tougher proposition. The Russians had won their opener, 9-0.

Indeed it was JNJ Russia who opened the scoring through Dmitrii Elchaninov. Actelion FC were soon to be level though thanks to Davide Gruel's second goal in as many games. Lev Mikheev was another man to make it 2 goals in 2 games as he restored the Russian lead. Andrey Sheremetyev joined the club as he made it 3-1. Lev Mikheev added another for 4-1.

4-1 at half-time became 4-1 at full-time as JNJ Russia had their second win.

The final game of Round 2 was JNJ Estonia & Lithuania (Est) versus Capital Park Leeds Blues (Eng). The teams experienced different emotions in Round 1. JNJ Estonia & Lithuania (Est) suffered a 9-0 loss to JNJ Russia. Capital Park Leeds Blues would have been buoyed by a second half comeback as they drew 2-2 with Janssen Portugal.

Capital Park Leeds made their debut at the Bratislava 2014 tournament (as Tekkers Lovakia) winning their group with 13 points from a possible 15. They went on to win their Cup Semi-Final 4-1 against JNJ Zug before narrowly missing out on ultimate glory 2-1 to JNJ High Wycombe A.

Fast forward 12 months to Prague 2015 and De Puy Synthes 1 were in fine form as they won Group A before a penalty shoot-out win over JNJ Poland in the Cup Quarter-Finals. It was penalty shoot-out time again in the Cup Semi-Finals but this time they were on the wrong end of the result as they fell to the eventual winners, Cilag Team 1 (Swi).

Their last performance (as Synthes UK 1) was at the 2016 Krakow Trophy where they won their group with 5 wins and 1 draw from 6 games. In the knock-out phase they had a 4-0 QF win (v Rodallega Bombs) and a 3-1 SF win (v Maidenhead 1). They missed out on glory as JNJ Medical Russia won the final, 4-1.

Capital Park Leeds Blues won this one in style – 8-0. Goals were shared around with Liam Robinson, Dave Jobe, Jay Yaffe and Tom Kerr all scoring twice.
