The
next game of Round 4 was Les Collegues who had
just tasted defeat for the first time and looking
to bounce back quickly. They were up against
W London who had drawn their last two games.
Given their level of performance here and track
record in Barcelona, 2 points from 9 seemed
to be a false position for W London.
The
first half here proved to be a closely contested
affair and ended without any goals, resulting
in a 0-0 scoreline. However, the second half
saw a change in the dynamics of the game.
Thomas
Margeon, who had now scored three goals in four
games, broke the deadlock and gave Les Collegues
the lead with his goal, making it 1-0. The French
team continued their momentum, and Jules Cicerel
extended their advantage, scoring to make it
2-0.
Not
stopping there, Les Collegues added to their
lead with a goal from Steve Bouyer, putting
them in a commanding position at 3-0. W London
managed to pull one back as Maxime Roche scored
his first goal of the tournament, making it
3-1. Unfortunately for W London, Roche's goal
only served as a consolation, as they were unable
to mount a comeback with time very much against
them.
The
final score remained 3-1 in favour of Les Collegues.
They jumped to the top of the table although
Shab-Tilburg did have a game in hand. W London
remained in fifth position with a lot of work
to do in their final group fixture.
