The Zlatan Show (Ned)

After 35 games of football we came down to the big one. Game 36 – The 2023 Amsterdam Fives Cup Final.

The two teams set to do battle for the honour and glory of victory represented France and the Netherlands. It was Foot 130 versus The Zlatan Show. Foot 130 were bidding to become the first French team to win this tournament. The A Team were close in 2019 when they finished second to Epsilon Rovers but Foot 130 had the chance to surpass that effort. The Zlatan Show were aiming to keep the trophy in Amsterdam after FC Kick's success here 12 months ago.

Let's have a look at the two team's record to preview the action:

These two teams had met before, in Group A, earlier in the day and played out a thrilling 4-4 draw. If we were to get a repeat I don't think there would be any complaints from the crowd watching on. So, those are the facts and figures – where's your money?

The match got off to an exhilarating start as Natan de Carriere found the back of the net twice in the first half, taking his tournament tally to an impressive eight goals. His clinical finishing gave Foot 130 a comfortable 2-0 lead heading into half-time.

The Zlatan Show, however, were not ready to concede defeat. They came out determined in the second half and quickly found a lifeline when Brian Flaco scored, reducing the deficit to 2-1. Foot 130 didn't need much help today but they got it with the aid of an own goal that extended their lead to 3-1. The momentum swung back and forth as both teams fought tooth and nail for control. Foot 130 managed to extend their lead to 4-1 and it looked all over when Antoine Botrel struck his 11 th of the tournament for 5-1. but The Zlatan Show refused to go down without a fight and mounted another comeback effort. Rodrigo Represa closing the gap to 5-2.

Eventually, time ran out for The Zlatan Show, and Foot 130 managed to hold on to their lead. The final whistle blew, and Foot 130 emerged victorious 5-2, securing the 2023 Amsterdam Fives title. Both teams should be commended for their efforts and for treating the spectators to an exciting spectacle of football.

We offer our consolations to The Zlatan Show who were absolutely superb on the day and put in a stunning effort. They were so close to glory. We'd like to thank them for supporting the tournament.

There was personal success for Antoine Botrel of Foot 130 who was our top scorer with 11 goals. Many congratulations to Antoine.
