The Zlatan Show (Ned)

We began Round 4 with England versus Sweden as Ball Sports Reds would take on BK Manskomplex. It was third versus fourth place as Ball Sports Reds looked to bounce back from defeat to The Zlatan Show last time out. They could potentially go top with a win (albeit having played a game more than their closest rivals). BK Manskomplex had lead both their previous games before being pegged to a 1-1 draw on each occasion. Those points dropped could prove costly and they really needed to win this one to have any hope of Cup qualification.

It was Ball Sports Reds who got off to a fast start in this one though as Charlie Norris and then Tom Harrison put them 2-0 up at the break. The English team were in control but BK Manskomplex threatened a comeback when Matthew Kvisth reduced the deficit to 2-1.

Ball Sports Reds quickly re-established their control of this game as Tom Harrison scored for 3-1 before Charlie Norris completed the scoring for 4-1. It was a convincing win in the end for Ball Sports Reds and they were very much in the mix for Cup qualification. BK Manskomplex would now have to concentrate on Plate qualification.

In a crucial Round 4 matchup, Slugs FC faced off against Elstead Blue. Both teams were locked in a tight battle for a Plate qualification place alongside BK Manskomplex. Slugs FC had endured a string of defeats in their previous games, while Elstead Blue had a mixed record with a loss, a heavy defeat, and a recent draw. The game promised to be a fierce contest, and it lived up to expectations as Elstead Blue emerged victorious with a 3-1 scoreline.

The match started with both teams displaying their determination to secure a crucial win. Slugs FC via Rob Tierney and Fin Turner of Elstead Blues exchanged first half goals. As the first half progressed, both teams continued to battle for control, creating chances in an attempt to gain the upper hand. However, neither side could find the decisive breakthrough, resulting in a 1-1 scoreline at halftime.

The second half saw Elstead Blue seize the initiative and take control of the match. It was George Walker showcased his goal-scoring prowess, netting two crucial goals to put his team in a commanding position. Walker's brace swung the momentum firmly in Elstead Blue's favor, leaving Slugs FC with a mountain to climb. Despite their best efforts to mount a comeback, Slugs FC found it challenging to break down Elstead Blue's resolute defense.

The defeat for Slugs FC extended their losing streak, leaving them in a challenging position in the battle for Plate qualification. Moving forward, Elstead Blue will take confidence from their performance and use it as a catalyst for future matches. They moved up to fourth position and their Plate qualification was now in their own hands.

In a high-octane clash between the top two teams, Foot 130 from France and The Zlatan Show from the Netherlands, both sides left no stone unturned in their quest for victory. Foot 130 had a perfect record with three wins in three games, while The Zlatan Show had two wins and a draw. The match lived up to its billing, providing a thrilling spectacle filled with goals, drama, and intensity. When the final whistle blew, the scoreline read an enthralling 4-4 draw.

The match kicked off with both teams showcasing their attacking prowess with the teams sharing 6 goals in a pulsating first half. Antoine Botrel continued his impressive form, scoring his sixth goal of the tournament and ably assisted by Natan de Carriere who netted two goals. However, The Zlatan Show responded swiftly with two goals from Leonard Maximilian Cebulla either side of a Jahnnes Henkel strike.

The second half proved to be just as enthralling as the first. Both teams exhibited relentless attacking intent and continued to produce exciting football but both teams cancelled each other out yet again. Leonard Maximilian Cebulla bagged his second of the game but Boris Laguerre's third of the day ensured it was honours even at full-time, 4-4.

The draw leaves both teams with their unbeaten records intact and ensures the battle for the top spot remains closely contested. The biggest winners from this result was Ball Sports Reds who are now well placed in second following their win.

Exciting times as we head into Round 5….
