The
penultimate game of Group A was Ball Sports
Reds versus Foot 130. At kick-off these teams
were the top two but they knew they couldn't
afford a slip up as The Zlatan Show were lurking
close in third position. Foot 130 lead the way
on 10 points and a win would guarantee them
the Group A title. A draw would see them guarantee
at least second spot and still reach the Cup.
If they were to lose though they would potentially
slip down to third place and the Plate if The
Zlatan Show were to win their final game.
For
Ball Sports Reds they really needed a win to
guarantee their Cup qualification. If they were
to draw then they would force The Zlatan Show
to win their last game in order to oust them.
A narrow defeat would see the same result but
a heavy defeat could mean a draw would be enough
for The Zlatan Show.
The
first half saw a competitive battle with both
teams looking to break the deadlock. Despite
several promising moments and attempts on goal,
the defenses stood firm, preventing any breakthroughs.
As a result, the score remained 0-0 heading
into halftime.
In
the latter stages of the match, Antoine Botrel,
who had been in scintillating form throughout
the tournament, delivered the decisive blow.
Botrel's goal proved to be the difference, securing
a 1-0 victory for Foot 130. It was Botrel's
seventh goal of the tournament, a testament
to his clinical finishing ability and importance
to his team's success.
Congratulations
to Foot 130, the Group A title and Cup qualification.
Would Ball Sports Reds be joining them? We would
soon find out.
