In the first game of Group B we had Ball Sports Pinks and Shab-Tilburg as England met the Netherlands. Both teams were making their debut in our tournaments.

Shab-Tilburg took an early lead, with Charif Chahid scoring the first goal, making it 1-0. Ball Sports Pinks managed to equalize with a goal from Matt Ayres, bringing the score to 1-1 which is where we were when we concluded the opening period.

In the second half, the teams continued to battle it out with Shab-Tilburg regainin the lead thanks to a goal from Abdulwahab Cami, making it 2-1. They extended their lead further with another goal from Jaafae Aafouallah, making it 3-1. Ball Sports Pinks managed to reduce the deficit with a goal from Ashley Small to spark hopes of a comeback.

However, Shab-Tilburg responded with the crucial 6th goal of the game from Charif Chahid, making it 4-2. They then sealed their victory with another goal from Jaafae Aafouallah, making the final score 5-2 in favor of Shab-Tilburg.

Round 2 continued with more two debutant teams, Les Collegues from France and LSVG1 representing the Netherlands.

The first half started with both teams showing great determination and tactical discipline. The defensive prowess of both teams was evident but the game was not a defensive one. There was some excellent ball control in midfield with many attacks on goal but neither team managed to break the deadlock before halftime, and the score remained 0-0.

As the second half commenced, both Les Collegues and LSVG1 sought to capitalize on their opportunities and secure a victory which would start their campaign in style.

As the game wore on it was Les Collegues who struck first catching LSVG1's defense off guard. Thomas Margeon, with his sharp instincts and precise finishing, received a well-placed pass and skillfully placed the ball into the back of the net, giving Les Collegues a crucial 1-0 lead.

Buoyed by their goal, Les Collegues tightened their defense, frustrating LSVG1's attempts to equalize. LSVG1 fought valiantly to find an equalizer, but the resolute defense of Les Collegues held firm, denying them any clear-cut chances.

As the final whistle blew, Les Collegues celebrated their hard-fought victory, securing their first win in their debut appearance. LSVG1, sadly for them, left the field empty-handed but plenty of games to come to make amends.

So, without further ado we headed on to game 3 of Group B which was Elstead Reds (Eng) against W London (Eng). These two teams had met in the group phase of the 2022 Barcelona Fives when Elstead Reds were named Toe Punters. On that occasion W London emerged victorious 2-0 thanks to goals from Malek Mansour and Darius Plummer who were both in the team here in Amsterdam.

Elstead's unbeaten Amsterdam record of 4 games had bitten the dust in Group A but could still live on with Elstead Reds and they made a great start here with Lawrence Willis giving them a 1-0 lead which they retained until half-time.

At the start of the second half James Davis doubled the lead and Elstead Reds looked on course to avenge that Barcelona defeat. However, W London roared back into the contest. Darius Plummer again proving a thorn in their side as he reduced the deficit to 2-1 before Mantej Pardesi levelled the tie up at 2-2.

All W London's hard work to come back into the game was undone when Ed Hallam scored the vital fifth goal of the game that ensured a 3-2 Elstead Reds victory. Well done to them and that unbeaten run ticked over to 5 matches.
