There
would be no magic from Merlijns FC in Group C
as the Dutch team were forced to withdraw before
kick-off. Each of the other four teams would collect
a 3-0 walkover victory. Blazers Army would be
the first beneficiaries and so they would have
to wait a little longer for their debut.
Tom
Tom Go and Bull
Heads would make their debut though in
the Amsterdam sunshine on Pitch C. It was the
English team who started the tournament in perfect
style as Nicky Walsh kickstarted their campaign.
It was to get even better when Jose Fernandes
made it 2-0 and the Bull Heads found themselves
two goals to the good at the break. In the second
half they extended their lead after Jose Fernandes
bagged his second. There was to be no further
scoring as the game finished 3-0.
FC
Biermeisters Sud collected three walkover
points before starting their on-field campaign
against Blazers Army.
The Blazers Army were the youngest team to grace
a eurofootballfives.com competition and would
pit their youthful energy and exhuberance against
the experience of the Biermeisters. Experience
may well have told as the first goal of the game
was scored by Jim Handy. With an entourage of
cheerleaders to keep the Biermeisters going on
the field, the first half Handy goal would prove
enough to take all three points in a 1-0 win.

Blazers
Army would have the chance to bounce back
immediately when they took on Tom
Tom Go who themselves were looking to claim
their first win. It was the Blazing Squad of Blazers
Army who opened the scoring when Bradley Garber
scored their first goal in Europe . It was a lead
they were to take into half-time. After the break,
with the confidence of a lead, they found their
goalscoring boots. A double from Jordan Sapler
plus goals from Ryan Kaye and Liam Stein made
the lead emphatic. Tom Tom Go responded through
Toby Van Zijl but it was only a consolation in
a 5-1 defeat.
