Cup
Semi-Final time and the elite eight were now the
final four. The ‘Nord' team now carried the FC
Biermeisters flag as they met the Blazers
Army.
In
their quarter-final the Biermeisters had scored
two early goals versus the 3 Lions to put them
in charge but they were unable to find the net
in the semi-final and beat Adam Frankel in the
Blazers Army goal. Oliver Van Den Broek was proving
equally stubborn in the Biermeisters goal keeping
the Blazers Army young gun forwards at bay. The
teams found themselves deadlocked at half-time,
full-time and into extra time we went. The FC
Biermeisters lost their ‘Sud' team to a golden
goal and were hoping their ‘Nord' team would not
suffer the same fate.
Lightning
did strike twice though not only for the Biermeisters
in defeat but also for the Blazers Army Jonathan
Shemoon who grabbed the quarter-final golden goal
versus the Wafty Crankers. He performed the same
heroics in the semi-final and it would be the
Blazers Army who would book their place in the
final.
The
Bull Heads next
hurdle on their march to the final was Tom
Tom One of the Netherlands . Tom Tom One's
task was a tough one against the Bull Heads who
were yet to concede. In their ranks, Tom Tom One
boasted the tournament's current top goalscorer
Bimmce Sekeyeke so if anyone could breach the
impregnable Bull Heads defence it would be him.
That
is exactly what they did and it was Sekeyeke's
7 th of the tournament to finally beat Andy Porter
in the Bull Head's goal. How would the Bull Head's
react? In fine-style was the answer. Jose Fernandes
pulled the English side level before the break.
Fernandes was now on 6 goals and hunting Sekeyeke
down for the top goalscorer prize. The second
half saw the third, final and decisive goal in
this contest as Robbie Evans secured the Bull
Head's place in the final, 2-1.
