We were almost at the conclusion of Group B. Round 5 began with CIS Committee versus Fiorentina Turner. What did the two teams require:

CIS Committee: Business as usual would see them through to the Cup and they only needed a point to win the Group B crown. They were already assured of a place in the Cup as their two closest rivals would face each other.

Fiorentina Turner: Needed a draw or win to secure Plate qualification. They could afford a 3 goal loss to go through on goal difference but anything more would see the Wafty Crankers go through to the Plate at their expense.

CIS Committee were hardly the opponents Fiorentina Turner would have wanted for such a crucial fixture and so it proved as the Belarussian team established a 3-0 lead by half-time. Siarhei Paliakou scored the opener before two more from Ihar Fedarynchyk. As things stood at half-time Fiorentina Turner were ok but they couldn't afford to slip any further behind.

Wafty Crankers would have been cheering on the team from Minsk and they'd have been happy to see the CIS Committee lead increase to 4-0 when Ihar Fedarynchyk completed his hat-trick. Valeri Ivashka scored his team's 5th goal to put the final nail in the Fiorentina Turner coffin.

The result meant CIS Committee would progress to the Cup with a 100% record. It also meant Wafty Crankers would be playing in the Plate competition and Fiorentina Turner would contest the wooden spoon.

The A Team and 50 Shades of O'Shea came into Round 5 in a final game shoot-out. Both teams currently sat on 9 points and the winner would join CIS Committee in the Cup competition.

The A Team currently lead the way on goal difference (+7 compared with +3) so a draw would be in the French team's favour as they would then go through courtesy of that goal difference. At half-time this looked very likely to be the case as the teams were locked together at 0-0.

The onus was on 50 Shades of O'Shea to search out a winner – it could always leave them vulnerable at the back to a counter-attack but they had no choice if they had ambitions of winning the overall Prague Tournament title. As it was, the game was to see a winner and when it came it was Fateh Bekhouche who scored it. The A Team won it 1-0.

Fateh Bekhouche was a member of the Grant Thornton squad who won the 2013 Mallorca Fives. Could he be a member of the 2016 Prague Tournament winning squad as The A Team sought their first eurofootballfives.com victory?

Commiserations to 50 Shades of O'Shea who came close but narrowly missed out on the Cup for the second time after a similar fate befell them at the 2015 Barcelona Fives.

All that was left was to complete the formalities of adding The Wafty Crankers 3-0 walkover win to the table to give us the final standings below…..
