Group B began with CIS Committee versus 50 Shades of O Shea.

CIS Committee are 2-times winners on the eurofootballfives.com circuit and were making their 6th eurofootballfives.com appearance. As such, they entered the tournament as one of the favourites for the title. Their opponents were newer to the eurofootballfives.com ranks but did have some experience themselves.

50 Shades of O'Shea made their debut in October at the 2015 Barcelona Fives (as ABCDE FC). They finished 2nd in their group which in many cases would qualify them for the Cup but in Barcelona only saw them into the Plate competition. They defeated the Wealdstone Raiders 3-1 in the Quarter-Finals before a narrow 1-0 defeat to Drunk Perfect in the Semi-Finals. Can they go one step further in Prague?

It looked a pretty tough start on paper for the English and so it proved on the pitch. There wasn't much in it in the first half as a solitary strike from Ihar Fedarynchyk was the only difference between the two teams. In the second half though the Belarus team eased away from their opponents and it was largely due to Fedarynchyk. He went on to complete a hat-trick in a 3-0 win. CIS Committee were off and running in Prague.

Next up was Fiorentina Turner against Wafty Crankers - both of England.

Fiorentina Turner was the second squad of Team Extreme (or were Team Extreme the second squad of Fiorentina Turner?) The Team Extreme group had entered two teams once before and on that occasion the second team (Dave Cole Minors) had gone on to reach the Plate Semi-Finals. How would Fiorentina Turner fare today?

Wafty Crankers were making a third appearance in Prague having also played here in 2008 and 2011. On those two occasions they reached a Plate Semi-Final ('08) and were victorious in the Plate in 2011.

These were perhaps two evenly matched teams given past records and so it proved on the pitch. We reached half-time all square at 1-1 as a James Rowland goal for Wafty Crankers and a Jake Bennett goal for Fiorentina Turner cancelled each other out.

After the break it was James Rowland who put the Wafty Crankers 2-1 up only for us to be level again at 2-2 courtesy of Dan Marshall. It was a solid start to the 2016 Prague Tournament for both teams.

Game 3 of Group B was set to be The A Team (Fra) v Professional Czech Team (Cze). The latter were far from professional though as they failed to show up. We therefore had no choice but to award a 3-0 walkover win to The A Team although we are sure they'd have preferred to be in action on the pitch. We can only offer our apologies for this.
