The eurofootballfives.com tour hit Prague for the twelfth time with 12 teams assembled from Belarus, the Czech Rep, England and France to stake their claim for glory in the Czech capital.

The first two challengers to get us underway in Group A on Pitch A this year would be CIS Committee Juniors (Blr) versus Frank Hirth (Eng).

CIS Committee (Blr) made the journey to Prague for the second time. They began their eurofootballfives.com journey here back in 2011 when they became the first team from Belarus to compete in our tournaments. They showed sensational form in the group phase winning their first four games before finishing with a draw as they won Group B. They were then surprisingly defeated in the Cup Quarter Finals via Golden Goal 2-1 to Dark Horses.

Fast forward 5 years and they returned to Prague – this time with 2 teams for the first time. They were represented by their first team, CIS Committee, and now also their second team CIS Committee Juniors. It was the latter who were on pitch now.

Once the action had started it was Frank Hirth (more on them later) who struck the first blow. Dan Spackman scored his team's first goal of the day and it gave Frank Hirth a 1-0 lead at half-time. That 1-0 lead remained at full-time and the English team had got off to a great start. 3 points and a clean sheet!

Game 2 of Group A was an all-England encounter between OKFC and Team Extreme.

OKFC were making their eurofootballfives.com debut but did have eurofootballfives.com experience in their ranks in the form of Henry Bird. Henry had played for Team Extreme in previous campaigns and would now come up against his former team-mates.

Team Extreme made their debut at the 2012 Valencia Fives where they finished 2nd in their 6-team group behind Oman's CBD Boys to earn the right to play Grant Thornton (Fra) in the Quarter-Finals which is where they left the competition. Grant Thornton (Fra) incidentally went on to win the 2013 Mallorca Fives a year later. Team Extreme also played in the 2013 Mallorca Fives but avoided playing the French team for a second time. They finished third in Group B (behind Hungary's FC Miracle who won the 2012 Valencia Fives) which meant qualification to the Plate competition. They were defeated in the Semi-Finals by Son Gual who went on to win the Plate.

At the 2014 Amsterdam Fives they had their most successful European sojourn as they won Group B. In the Cup Quarter-Finals they defeated ADP Netherlands 3-1 before an epic encounter against 3 time eurofootballfives.com champions, Athletico Do Hollande, saw them exit the competition 4-3.

In 2015, Bratislava was the destination where they competed as Tekkerslovakia and The Dave Cole Minors as part of a stag weekend. The former qualified for the Cup losing to FC Pressburg, 3-2, in the Quarter-Finals. The Dave Cole Minors reached the Plate Semi-Finals and, following a 3-3 draw, lost on penalties to the Plate Winners – St Paul's College Old Boys.

Team Extreme forged ahead in the first half through Phil Kemp. After the break the goals flowed with Chika Kalu, Phil Kemp and Danh Van Vo all on target. Team Extreme were off to a flyer, 4-0.

The final two teams in Group A were both Czech – GBS Reds and Damjan Radeka. Both teams had recruitment failures and arrived with only 2 players and 4 players respectively. There was no choice but to abandon this game and merge the two teams. The merged team would continue as Damjan Radeka for the rest of the tournament.

GBS Reds would bow out and all teams would get a 3-0 walkover against them including Damjan Radeka here.
