There were 6 games remaining in Group B and the teams each had two more chances to determine their fate in the knock-out phase. Inter Balear and Algaiga Golf kicked off Round 4. It was first versus fourth in the table at kick-off. Inter Balear had a 100% win record and were 7 points ahead of their opponents whose progress had been stalled with 2 draws from their 3 games.

These two teams met in June 2017's Mallorca Tournament with Algaiga Golf playing as Son Gual on that occasion. Last year Son Gual came from 1-0 down to win the game 3-1. Algaiga Golf looked like repeating the victory here in May 2018 as they raced into a 2-0 first half lead. Bryan and Jon both scored to put their team in command at the break.

Given the other results today this was a little surprise and Inter Balear would have a really tough task in keeping their 100% record going. They were given a lifeline when Toni Lobo reduced the deficit to 2-1.

Algaiga Golf held on though to win their first match of the day and do the double over Inter Balear.

John Laing were next up as they hosted Multiple Scorgasms. The two teams found themselves occupying sixth and fifth positions respectively. With a fourth place finish (or higher) required to continue participation after the group phase neither team could afford to lose this game.

John Laing were looking for their first goal and first points of the day but had only just narrowly lost last time out (1-0) and they had played the top two. If they could press the re-set button and start again then two wins should secure Plate qualification.

Multiple Scorgasms had lost their first two games by the marginal scoreline of 2-1 but had just picked up their first point in a 1-1 draw. A win here could move them up to fourth and into the Plate qualification places if other results went their way.

The two teams played out a goal-less first half but we were to get goals in the second half. It was John Laing who broke the deadlock with Sam Keisner on target. Lewis Hampton had scored in each of the three previous rounds but he was unable to make it four games in a row. However, Multiple Scorgasms would find an equalizer with Tom Sheppard scoring the goal that made it 1-1.

The draw did not really help either side too much – however, Multiple Scorgasms hopes were still alive in the Plate qualification stakes. They needed help from elsewhere as they needed Tito FC to lose both their final games.

The first of Tito FC's final 2 games was next on Pitch B as they faced Renshaw. They needed one win to secure a place in the Plate at the very least. Two wins and a defeat for Renshaw in their last game could see Cup qualification. Renshaw would no doubt have the support of Multiple Scorgasms as they needed Tito FC to lose.

From a Renshaw perspective, this was a chance to wrap up Cup qualification. With Inter Balear's defeat, Renshaw had a chance to open up a 3 point gap at the top. This would mean they could finish no worse than second and sit just 1 point from the Group B title.

Tito FC had kept two clean sheets in their first two games before a 3-0 loss to Inter Balear last time out. They were back to keeping it tight at the back as Renshaw were unable to find a way through in the first half. Renshaw were equally solid defensively and so we entered half-time level at 0-0.

In the second half we were to have a breakthrough. It was a goal that 2 of the 3 English teams in Group B needed. It was the last thing Tito FC needed though. Michael Beck scored a double in Round 1 and he was back in the goals here to give Renshaw a 1-0 lead. Elliot Albedian doubled the advantage and sealed the game for Renshaw who maintained their 100% record in Group B.

Tito FC had work to do going into the final round of games.
