RAF Boulmer returned to action determined to put their opening defeat behind them, but they faced another daunting assignment against F.R. Ady. F.R. Ady made their second appearance with us at the 2025 Barcelona Sevens and were very impressive. They opened up with a 2-1 win against Dolce & Lallana before defeating Milner Street 4-1. A 5-1 win over Sporting Armada made it 3 wins out of 3 before an even bigger 7-0 win against Cruz Del Sur completed a 100% group record. Colonel Getafe held them to a 1-1 draw in the Cup Semi-Finals but the Hungarians progressed to the final on penalties (4-3). In the Cup Final, they met Sporting Armada again and won 3-1 to claim a thoroughly deserved title.

Today, the Hungarians had been held to a draw in their first game and their title defence was looking decidedly shaky as they slipped to a 2-0 lead at half-time in this one. Owain Thomas and James May both got on the scoresheet for RAF Boulmer as they completed a superb first half. The English team were growing into this tournament and it was some performance they had put in so far but could they sustain it?

For F.R. Ady, a defeat would not have been fatal but having drawn their opener 1 point from 6 available would have made their title defence incredibly difficult but they stormed back in a sensational second half. Szabo Csaba pulled a goal back to make it 2-1 before Tamas Robert Levente levelled the match at 2-2. The momentum was all with the Hungarian and they were determined not to stop there. Captain Levente Lelek went on to grab a crucial winner as F.R. Ady showed the resilience that helped make them champions 12 months ago. The league picture was looking much healthier for them with 4 points. For RAF Boulmer it was naturally disappointment with a second loss on the bounce but they can take comfort for having pushed such a quality side all the way.

Group A's two early pace-setters went head-to-head in Match 5, with JK Silvertown (Eng) and TEAM Polonia Limerick (Pol) both looking to build on impressive 4-1 victories in their opening fixtures. With both sides sitting at the top of the table after Round 1, this promised to be an important early test in the race for Cup qualification. JK Silvertown made the first breakthrough as Alan Taylor found the net to put the English side 1-0 ahead, but Polonia had a familiar figure ready to respond. Kuba Cieloch continued his outstanding start to the tournament by equalising, ensuring the teams went into half-time level at 1-1.

The second half belonged to Cieloch, who once again proved the difference-maker for TEAM Polonia Limerick. The Polish striker struck twice more to complete his hat-trick and put his side firmly in control at 3-1. Remarkably, this was already his second hat-trick of the tournament, having scored three times in Polonia's opening match against RAF Boulmer. With only two games played, Cieloch had established himself as one of the standout performers of the competition and a serious threat to every defence in Group A.

JK Silvertown were unable to find a way back into the contest, and TEAM Polonia Limerick held on to claim a second consecutive statement victory, this time winning 3-1. The result gave Polonia sole possession of top spot in Group A after Round 2, strengthening their early position in the push for the Cup. For JK Silvertown, the defeat was a setback after their promising start, but there remains plenty of football ahead as the group begins to take shape.

Dumpling CF returned to Group A action hoping to put their opening 4-1 defeat behind them, but faced an Athletico Madridlesborough side full of confidence after holding defending champions F.R. Ady to a 1-1 draw. Athletico had shown in their opening fixture that they could compete with the very best, and they carried that promise into this encounter with a devastating attacking display. The debutants took complete control of the match, racing into a commanding 6-0 lead by half-time as Dumpling struggled to contain the relentless pressure.

George Hayward and Alex Household were both in outstanding form, each finding the net twice during the first-half onslaught. Hayward then added two more goals just before the interval to complete a remarkable four-goal haul, taking his tournament tally to five. Cameron Gough also got himself on the scoresheet, while Athletico's number 20 added another goal to round off an emphatic performance. With eight goals shared across the team, the newcomers demonstrated that their opening draw was no fluke.

The final whistle confirmed an 8-0 victory for Athletico Madridlesborough, a result that significantly boosted their goal difference and lifted them into second place in Group A after Round 2. With the top two progressing to the Cup, Athletico had put themselves in an excellent position early in the tournament. For Dumpling CF, it was a difficult afternoon as they remained bottom of the group in sixth place, and they will need a response in their next outing to revive their hopes of climbing the table.
