With their first games under their belts it was Round 2 for all the teams in Group A and time to settle in to the tournament.

Two Balls One Touch had the opportunity to bounce back from opening game defeat but it would not be easy against a FC Broxelona A team. FC Broxelona A had looked good in their opening fixture as they claimed all 3 points. Another victory for them would represent the perfect start to the tournament.

The first half to be proved a competitive one with Two Balls One Touch holding their own and neither team could break the deadlock. There was a notable good early save from Tom Desa in the Two Balls One Touch goal to help retain parity.

In the second half the goals came and Tom Desa was powerless to prevent Broxelona A surging ahead. James Windley made the vital breakthrough to set Broxelona A on their way. Lewis Frood had eurofootballfives.com experience here in Budapest with Le Saux Solid Crew and he scored his second goal in as many games to double the FC Broxelona A lead. The icing was put on the victory cake when Luke Blackwell made it 3-0.

Next up on Pitch A was Vilag Valogatott versus Meglepetes. The former were looking for their first points of the day whilst the latter were hoping to reach the summit by claiming a second successive victory.

There was not much between the teams in the first half and, in fact, it would be a solitary strike that would divide the teams going into half-time. That strike came from Domonkos Muranyi – his fourth of the tournament – and it was Meglepetes who lead at half-time.

At 1-0 the game was delicately poised and the second goal in this game was always likely to be crucial in the destination of the points. Should Vilag Valogatott get it then it was game on but should Meglepetes manage to claim it they would be well on course victory.

When the second goal arrived it was Domonkos Muranyi who scored it and at 2-0 Vilag Valogatott had an uphill task to get something from this game. It was a task that would prove beyond them as Domonkos Muranyi went on to score his second hat-trick of the tournament already. With 6 goals in 2 games he was leading the way for the top goalscorer prize. There was also a goal for Barnabas Kantor (Meglepetes) and Jules Mouille (Vilag Valogatott) as the game finished 4-1.

Vilag Valogatott could still qualify for the Cup despite two defeats but they would now need to win their final 3 games. Meglepetes were well on their way.

To complete Round 2 we had Budapest Celtic Greens versus Wandsworth Athletic. We had a 2-1 victor against a 2-1 loser from the first round. A repeat would be just what the doctor ordered for Budapest Celtic but Wandsworth Athletic needed to make sure they were on the right end of a close score-line this time.

There was little to choose between the two teams in the opening period and the score remained at 0-0 when the two teams changed ends at the half-time interval.

Could either team find a breakthrough in the second half? Cometh the hour, cometh the man and that man was Nate Hajunder of Budapest Celtic Greens. He broke the deadlock and his goal would earn all three points for the locally based team.

The goal was Hajunder's second of the tournament and it was a crucial goal for Budapest Celtic Greens as it meant they kept pace with Meglepetes and FC Broxelona A at the top of Group A. The group table was looking like a two tier affair at this early stage with three teams boasting a 100% record and three teams looking to get off the mark.
