The afternoon knock-out phase of the 2015 Bratislava Fives began with the Plate Quarter-Finals. There would be 2 Quarter-Finals as St Paul's College Old Boys and The Dave Cole Minors would have byes through to the Semi Final stage.

First up was Team Bear II versus Bede FC on Pitch B. It was our contention that Team Bear II would be favourites for this one having previously won a Cup competition and thereby slipping down a level today. Bede FC were familiar with the Plate concept having appeared in this competition before. The two teams came into the game though having both collected 3 points in the morning but Team Bear II had a goal difference of 11-9 compared with Bede FC's 7-11.

The game was nicely poised and we were treated to goals galore. There were no less than 7 goals in the opening period with Team Bear II shading proceedings by going into half-time 4-3 up. There was a hat-trick for each of Chris Tanner (Team Bear II) and Dave Gatt (Bede FC) with a Jake Christensen strike ultimately proving the difference in the first half.

In the second half Rhys Tyrrell made it 5-3 to Team Bear II and opened up a gap that proved too much for Bede FC in the end. Chris Tanner added his fourth of the game for Team Bear II and Troy Grant got his name on the scoresheet for Bede FC. Final score, 6-4.

Team Bear II were through and they would meet either Donuts or Multiple Scoregasms. For Bede FC, their time on the pitch in Bratislava was over for this season.

The other Quarter-Final was due to be Donuts versus Multiple Scoregasms. However, Donuts had picked up some injuries in the group phase and were unable to fulfil the fixture. Multiple Scoregasms therefore earned themselves a 3-0 win and progression to the Semi-Finals.
