We
had two opening game victors in the previous game
and now we had two teams looking for their first
win of the day as Team Bear II took on The Dave
Cole Minors.
The
Dave Cole Minors came from the stable of Team
Extreme who made their debut at the 2012 Valencia
Fives where they finished 2nd in their 6-team
group behind Oman's CBD Boys to earn the right
to play Grant Thornton (Fra) in the Quarter-Finals
which is where they left the competition. Grant
Thornton (Fra) incidentally went on to win the
2013 Mallorca Fives a year later. Team Extreme
also played in the 2013 Mallorca Fives but avoided
playing the French team for a second time. They
finished third in Group B (behind Hungary's FC
Miracle who won the 2012 Valencia Fives) which
meant qualification to the Plate competition.
They were defeated in the Semi-Finals by Son Gual
who went on to win the Plate.
At
the 2014 Amsterdam Fives they had their most successful
European sojourn as they won Group B. In the Cup
Quarter-Finals they defeated ADP Netherlands 3-1
before an epic encounter against 3 time eurofootballfives.com
champions, Athletico Do Hollande, saw them exit
the competition 4-3. As we have seen already they
came to Bratislava for a stag weekend and with
a name change to boot.
With
this game underway it was a slow start for the
Dave Cole Minors as Team Bear II came flying out
of the traps. Team Bear II raced into a 4-0 lead.
Rhys Tyrrell got the ball rolling before a Chris
Tanner double and Jake Christensen finding the
net – it was only half-time. There was another
four goal salvo for Team Bear after the break
with Chris Tanner and Jake Christensen both going
on to complete hat-tricks and Rhys Tyrell bagging
his second of the game.
The
Dave Cole Minors did have something to cheer when
Antonio Vernaschi scored his third goal in two
games but, alas for the Dave Cole Minors, it was
to be a mere consolation as Team Bear II wrapped
up the biggest win of the day.
