Group
B began with Team Bear II (Eng) taking on GSF
Drunkerz (Svk). Team Bear II could well be amongst
the favourites today as they are the only team
in the line-up with a Cup success behind them
in our tournaments. At the 2013 Budapest Fives,
as Team Bear, they claimed the ultimate prize.
They met two-times eurofootballfives.com winners
Rigford Seahawks in the Cup Final. After an end
to end 0-0 draw, penalties were required to decide
the title – Team Bear held their nerve.
It
was Team Bear II on the front foot in the first
half of this game with Chris Tanner coming closest
to breaking the deadlock with a strong run through
midfield before unleashing a shot that cannoned
back off the bar. At the break we remained level
at 0-0.
It
was Tanner again who looked like breaking the
deadlock early in the second period with an early
chance that was struck well but over the bar.
Then, we were to see a goal and it was Chris Tanner
with a free-kick who put his side 1-0 up. At this
stage you could only see them kicking on to victory.
GSF
Drunkerz had other ideas though as Martin Volek
fired them level at 1-1. They then turned the
game completely on its head as Peter Tartar put
the Slovakian team 2-1 up. It was a sensational
turnaround and one that meant it was the local
team celebrating victory at full-time.
