We were now at the Cup Semi-Final stage with 4 teams and 3 nations still in the hunt for glory – Hungary, Poland and Spain (x2). The first Cup Semi-Final would see defending champions Polonia Limerick versus Catalunya Legends. Polonia Limerick came into the game with the only 100% record – 4 wins out of 4 today. Their unbeaten run in our Super Veterans tournaments had now extended to 16 games with a 75% win ratio. They had an overall goal difference of 44-8. With two Super Veterans titles under their belts, it would be a brave person to bet against them completing a hat-trick. This was the size of the task facing Catalunya Legends if they wanted to reach the Cup Final.

Polonia Limerick wasted little time in demonstrating why they had been the team to beat throughout the day, with Aiden Hyland finding the net to give the defending champions a 1-0 lead. Hyland's strike was his fourth of the tournament, adding to his growing contribution to the Polish side's campaign. Catalunya Legends had been unbeaten so far (2 wins, 2 draws) but they faced a monumental challenge of containing a side that had proved so difficult to beat, and they managed to keep the deficit to a single goal until half-time, leaving themselves with a chance of mounting a second-half comeback.

However, Polonia Limerick's experience and quality came to the fore after the break. Remigiusz Sarbak doubled their advantage with his second goal of the day, giving the champions some valuable breathing space before Artur Sukiennik added a third, also registering his second goal of the tournament. At the other end, Gabriel Dzik and his defence remained resolute to record their third clean sheet of the day, and second in succession, as Polonia Limerick completed a convincing 3-0 victory.

For Catalunya Legends, the semi-final exit will be disappointing after an unbeaten group campaign and an impressive effort to reach the last four. They can nevertheless be proud of their performances in Lloret de Mar and the challenge they posed on their way to the knockout stages. Polonia Limerick, meanwhile, are once again one win away from history. Their commanding semi-final display keeps their bid for a third consecutive Super Veterans title firmly alive, and they will head into the final full of confidence as they look to complete a remarkable hat-trick of titles.

The second Cup semi-final pitted FC Miracle of Hungary against AFV Valles Maresme of Spain. FC Miracle were the winners of Group B with 10 points from a possible 12. Whilst they were ranked 2 nd overall in terms of points (Polonia Limerick took 12 points in Group A), FC Miracle were the top scorers in the tournament with 14 goals scored and boasted the best defence with just 2 goals conceded – a formidable combination. AFC Valles Maresme had performed well themselves this morning with 3 wins out of 4 and their only defeat to the defending champions, Polonia Limerick. The stage was set for an enthralling encounter.

AFV Valles Maresme made a superb start to the semi-final, with Serji Xena Ramon opening the scoring before Jordi Barich Marquez doubled the Spanish side's advantage. FC Miracle had conceded just twice across their four previous group matches, so finding themselves 2-0 down at half-time was unfamiliar territory for the Hungarians. AFV Valles Maresme had given themselves a wonderful opportunity to reach the final, but there was still plenty of football to be played.

The Spanish side took their performance to another level after the break, as both Serji Xena Ramon and Jordi Barich Marquez struck again to complete their braces and put AFV Valles Maresme 4-0 ahead. It looked an extraordinary result in the making, but FC Miracle were not ready to surrender their hopes of reaching the final. Laszlo Zsolt pulled one back before Janos Gal added another, and when Zsolt scored again, the deficit had been cut to just one goal at 4-3. Zsolt's second strike took him to seven goals for the tournament, making him the leading scorer, but despite the remarkable comeback, FC Miracle could not find an equaliser.

AFV Valles Maresme held on to win 4-3 in a thrilling semi-final and book their place in the Cup Final against defending champions Polonia Limerick. Their four-goal performance was a testament to their attacking threat, while their composure during FC Miracle's late surge proved just as important. For FC Miracle, the defeat brings an end to an excellent campaign in which they had topped Group B and established themselves as one of the tournament's strongest sides. They came agonisingly close to rescuing the tie, but AFV Valles Maresme will now have the chance to compete for the biggest prize in Lloret de Mar.
