TEAM Polonia Limerick (Pol) is a new but old team. It is an off-shoot of Polonia Limerick and is a separate team to “Polonia Limerick”. The team first competed under this new guise at the 2025 Barcelona Veterans & Super Veterans. In the Super Veterans section, they lost their first game 1-0 to Athletico Charhad Vets before responding with a 4-0 win over the USA's Old Vipers. They continued their winning form with a 2-1 victory over Bristol Wanderers and a 1-0 win over The Warriors. A 0-0 draw in their final game against JK Silvertown saw them finish in 3 rd place and qualify for the Plate (a win would have seen them progress to the Cup). In the Plate Semi-Finals they defeated Los Amblos 3-2 but missed out on glory as Bristol Wanderers got their revenge from the group phase with a 1-0 win in the final.

They would begin their 2026 campaign in Lloret de Mar against Intermore FC (more on them later). Team Polonia Limerick made a blistering start to their Group B campaign, overwhelming their Irish opponents with a seven-goal performance. Colin Scanlan opened the scoring before Pawel Maslanek doubled the advantage. Miro Kurzeja then added a third, with Przenyslaw Wajnert also finding the net as Polonia continued to dominate the contest. Kurzeja and Scanlan struck again to register their second goals of the game, while Slawomir Stencel added another to leave Intermore facing a heavy deficit. Team Polonia Limerick maintained their attacking pressure and control throughout with Scanlan and Kurzeja's braces complemented by goals from across the team as Polonia's movement and finishing proved too much for the Irish side to contain. The final score was 7–0, with Polonia Limerick producing an emphatic opening result.

FC Miracle (Hun) have built an impressive record across nine previous eurofootballfives.com tournaments, establishing themselves as one of the most consistent sides in the competition. They made a superb debut at the 2011 Barca Fives, reaching the final after finishing level on points with former champions Luminy Wolves, before narrowly losing 2–1 to Midshires FC. They were equally impressive in the 2012 Algarve Open, winning Group C and progressing through five successive victories before a 1–0 Cup Semi-Final defeat to CFC A, but later that year they finally claimed their first eurofootballfives.com trophy at the Valencia Fives. Further strong performances followed, including a Cup Semi-Final appearance in Mallorca in 2013 and a Cup Quarter-Final in Barcelona in 2014. FC Miracle switched to Veterans football in 2017 and immediately reached another Cup Final, winning their Lisbon group before beating FLX 4–0, although they ultimately lost 5–2 to Talhos Mariete. They went close again in the 2018 Algarve Veterans, winning five of six group games and overcoming FC Mahou on penalties in the Semi-Finals, only to lose the final 2–0 to Mini FC. Returning to non-Veterans action in Barcelona in 2019, they topped an unbeaten group ahead of two-time champions Club Esportiu Llefia before exiting against Northern Town in the Quarter-Finals. Their most recent appearance came at the 2023 Mallorca Veterans, where they once again topped their group, recording impressive wins over Wafty Crankers, Southgate Ramblers and Polonia Limerick, before defeating Trojans 5–2 in the Quarter-Finals and losing 4–2 to eventual champions Duktil Balear in the Semi-Finals. Overall, FC Miracle have won one tournament, finished runners-up three times, reached three further Cup Semi-Finals and appeared in two Cup Quarter-Finals. This will be their first appearance at Super Veterans level, but their outstanding history suggests they will arrive with plenty of experience and a serious pedigree.

FC Miracle lived up to their billing and made an impressive start to their first Super Veterans campaign. They overcame Los Amblos (more on them later) 4–0 in a convincing display. Janos Gal opened the scoring for the Hungarian side before Laszlo Zsolt doubled their advantage, giving FC Miracle a strong platform as they continued to control the game. Tibor Mora added a third for FC Miracle before Zsolt completed the scoring with his second of the match. Los Amblos were unable to find a response as the Hungarians maintained their authority through the remainder of the contest, securing a comfortable 4–0 victory and an ideal start to their Group B campaign. For Los Amblos, this was always going to prove an opener but they had plenty of time to get their campaign back on track.

Catalunya Legends opened their Group B campaign against a TEAM Polonia Limerick side who had already made a spectacular start to the tournament, beating Intermore FC 7–0. The Polish team carried that attacking momentum into this encounter and took the lead when Colin Scanlan found the net. It was Scanlan's third goal of the tournament, continuing his excellent form after his brace in the opening victory.

Catalunya Legends responded well to going behind and soon restored parity through Xavi Ribera. The equaliser settled the Spanish side and made for a much more competitive contest, but TEAM Polonia Limerick regained their advantage when Pawel Maslanek struck to make it 2–1. Having already demonstrated their attacking threat earlier in the day, the Polish side looked on course for another victory.

Catalunya Legends refused to let the game slip away, however, and once again found a way back into the contest. Luisinho scored the equaliser to make it 2–2, denying TEAM Polonia Limerick what would have been their second victory of the tournament. The closing stages saw both teams competing for the decisive goal, but neither could produce the breakthrough needed to claim all three points.

The 2–2 draw left TEAM Polonia Limerick at the top of the Group B table on four points, following their opening 7–0 victory. Catalunya Legends, meanwhile, moved straight into third place with a point from their first outing. For the Polish side, it was a frustrating end to a match in which they had twice held the lead, while Catalunya Legends can take considerable encouragement from coming back twice against one of the group's early pace-setters.

Intermore FC (Ire) were making their fifth appearance with us following a debut in Krakow 2010. They finished second in their group before bowing out at the quarter-final stage to eventual runners-up, Pimp My Side. Twelve months on in Barcelona they went all the way to the Plate Final where they were unlucky to finish runners-up, 1-0, in a very tight match against Bristol Bridge. Then, it was the Plate Quarter-Finals they reached in the 2012 Budapest Fives before bowing out to a strong Hungarian team, Stanis Mates. Their next appearance was at the 2013 Lisbon Veterans Tournament which was our very first veterans event where they finished in fifth position. It was great to see them back after 13 years at Super Veterans level. They faced a tough start against TEAM Polonia Limerick and now faced an equally difficult contest against a strong FC Miracle team who were fresh from their opening 4-0 win.

FC Miracle continued their impressive start to the tournament with another commanding performance against Intermore FC. The Hungarians established a firm grip on the game in the opening half, with Janos Gal opening the scoring before Laszlo Zsolt added a second. Tibor Mora then completed a dominant first-half showing by making it 3–0, leaving Intermore with a sizeable deficit to overcome at the interval.

There was no let-up from FC Miracle after the restart as they continued to find the target with impressive regularity. Zoltan Toth struck twice to extend the advantage, before Tuko added a sixth. Laszlo Zsolt then completed the scoring with his second of the game, taking his personal tournament tally to four. Intermore were unable to find a response, while goalkeeper Laszlo Elekes recorded his second clean sheet of the tournament as FC Miracle secured a comprehensive 7–0 victory. The result moved FC Miracle to the top of the Group B table on six points.

Los Amblos have been regulars on the veterans tournament circuit since making their debut at the 2016 Lisbon Veterans Tournament, where they reached the Plate Final after beating Mavericks 1–0 in the Semi-Final before losing 2–0 to Pioes. They enjoyed an even stronger group campaign in Mallorca in 2017, finishing second with three wins, a draw and one defeat, although their Cup hopes ended with a heavy Semi-Final loss to eventual champions FC Mahou. Subsequent tournaments have often followed a similar pattern of competitive group performances without quite finding the results needed to progress deep into the knockout stages: they reached the Plate Quarter-Finals in Algarve in 2018, narrowly missed the Plate in Alicante in 2019 on goal difference, and endured a frustrating 2022 Lisbon campaign where four of their five defeats came by just one or two goals. In Mallorca in 2023 they finished fourth in their group to reach the Plate, only to run into a rampant Polonia Limerick side and lose 7–1. Los Amblos were part of the inaugural Super Veterans event in Porto in 2024, where they finished fifth and they returned to the Super Veterans stage in Barcelona in 2025 with another solid campaign. A 4–3 opening win over Pork Vale was followed by defeats to Tavria, Hatfield and eventual champions Polonia Limerick, but their results were enough to secure fourth place and another Plate berth. They came within a whisker of reaching the Plate Final, eventually losing 3–2 to Team PL Blue Boys in the Semi-Final, and will now be looking to build on that experience in their latest Super Veterans campaign.

Los Amblos were looking to bounce back from their 4–0 defeat to Group B leaders FC Miracle, while Catalunya Legends entered the contest with a point already on the board following their 1–1 draw with TEAM Polonia Limerick. With a victory potentially moving either side into third place, and Catalunya Legends having an outside chance of climbing into second on goal difference, there was plenty at stake. Catalunya Legends took control of the contest and established a clear advantage, with Marc Valls proving particularly influential by finding the net twice.

Los Amblos were unable to find a response as Catalunya Legends continued to control the game and added a third goal through Juan Carlos Tortoras. The Spanish side ultimately secured a solid 3–0 victory, giving them an important three points and strengthening their position in the group. The result moved Catalunya Legends into third place, while Los Amblos remained in fourth.
