Defending
champions F.R. Ady were back in action on Pitch
A. They were third in the table with 4 points
from 6 but had to work hard for those points with
a 1-1 draw v Athletico Madridlesborough and coming
back from 2-0 down against RAF Boulmer. They now
faced a Dumpling CF team who had struggled so
far this morning with 2 defeats from 2 games losing
4-1 and 8-0. For F.R.Ady this was a chance to
assert themselves in Group A and move top of the
table on 7 points. For Dumpling CF you feared
the worst after those opening defeats.
The
first half offered little to separate the sides,
with F.R. Ady unable to turn their territorial
advantage into a breakthrough and Dumpling CF
showing greater resilience than in their opening
fixtures. The teams went into the interval locked
at 0-0, leaving the defending champions with work
to do if they were to take advantage of the opportunity
to climb to the summit of Group A. However, it
was Dumpling who struck first after the restart,
with Sam Clark finding the net to give his side
a surprising 1-0 lead. F.R. Ady responded through
Rozsa Tamas Norbert, who restored parity at 1-1
and appeared to have steadied the Hungarian challenge.
Dumpling
CF, though, were not finished. Clark struck again
to put the underdogs back in front before completing
a superb hat-trick to make it 3-1. It was an extraordinary
turnaround for a team that had conceded 12 goals
across their first two matches, and Clark's treble
was already the fifth hat-trick recorded in Group
A. F.R. Ady could find no further response, suffering
their first defeat of the tournament as Dumpling
celebrated a remarkable first win. After such
a difficult start, the result breathed new life
into their campaign and proved that there was
still plenty of fight in the Dumpling ranks. It
was a stunning win as it was F.R. Ady's first
group phase defeat in our tournaments after 9
wins and a draw in their previous 10 matches.
